About Liesl
BLIND BUT NOT HELPLESS
Hello, my name is Liesl and I'm blind but functional and I desperately need a new home as my loving owners have serious health problems and can no longer keep me.
Liesl, a much beloved 14 yo senior, needs a new home. As a kitten Liesl was struck by a car which left him blind and with possible head injuries. However this has been no barrier to a happy fulfilled life. Liesl is a contented and gentle ginger cat who loves nothing better than to sit on your lap and cuddle, and when cold spoon with you on the couch or in bed. He will keep you company when working on your computer (without walking all over it)! Described as a good natured feline ""labrador"", happy to be near you fed and petted, he also loves to sit outside soaking up the sunshine. He's blind so you never have to worry he may bolt out an open door or gate!
He has no problems sniffing out food. Loves his food. His only drawback in an unfamiliar home will be finding his litter box. It would be helpful to have a few scattered around the house until he learns where to find them. His previous owner has lovingly described him as a clean boy who makes few demands on his owner/s, though he will need human assistance in a new home. He helpfully lets you know he has to 'go' by circling the room and meowing for the 'toilet' when a shut door has kept him away from his litter box. He will also go outside on the grass, but you will temporarily have to lead him out onto it. He will then sniff around here and there until he finds the right spot and squats. You will then have to lead him back inside though on a sunny day he would much prefer to stay outside listening to the birds. Indeed this is where he would prefer to be on any nice day.
Liesl (or Cheezel) doesn't know he has a disability. He has found a way to thrive. Agonisingly he now has to go to a new home to live out the rest of his life. He is an otherwise healthy and undemanding animal. He would suit and needs a stay-at-home mum/dad with plenty of love, patience and compassion. He will bring your household much joy and fulfilment. Please make an appointment to meet Liesl.
He is presently on a prescription diet. He has been wormed, flea treated, vaccinated, desexed and microchipped #956000001991675: Source#RE101165
