About Rosie
Beautiful Rosie will be turning 7 in December and would love to take up a Rosie sized spot in your home and heart!
Rosie has been in the care of Amazing Greys since late August. During this time she has adjusted to her new life beautifully. She is a very friendly girl who is happy inside the home and loves people, her green squeaky toy and walks. Rosie will follow her humans around like a noodle-shaped shadow, especially if you happen to be cooking some steak in the kitchen and will eagerly wait for you to share your off cuts. Speaking of which, Rosie loves all things food, so consider this your warning to keep all that deliciousness out of her reach as she will try to sneak a titbit if she can!
Rosie has learnt to sit and will happily do so while waiting for her bedtime treat, which she receives for getting into her bed – the good girl! She is also currently learning to stay and this is a work in progress which her new home will be happy to continue training her on. Amazing Greys has lots of fun resources to help with this and other basic training. Rosie also loves to have a zoomie or two at home while playing with her squeaky toy (see her video), so her ideal home will have some space indoors to allow for this, and a backyard so that she can have a play out there too. Give her a car ride where she can stick her head out to sniff the air, and you will have a best friend for life.
Rosie walks well on her lead and rarely freezes, though when she does, can be easily redirected by gently nudging her in the right direction, instead of pulling. She is also friendly with other greyhounds and large breed dogs that she has met on her walks previously. While in foster care, Rosie has met a pony or two and has behaved very well, though small dogs and cats overexcite her, so it’s best that she go to a home with no small pets.
Rosie has some separation anxiety and is on medication for that, so ideally would suit a forever home with another greyhound or potentially a calm large dog buddy pending introductions, or with humans that are home more often than not. She is also a bit big for homes with very young children, as she doesn’t quite know her size and can bump into them while having a play, so a home with older children will suit her wonderfully instead.
Rosie’s ideal home looks something like this:
• Enough outdoor space for zoomies and toileting
• Humans who are home more often than not
• A home without very young children
• No small dogs, cats, or “pocket pets”

Adoption details
1) Please email adopt@amazinggreys.com.au
2) Our adoptions team will send you an application form so we can learn more about you, your household and lifestyle
3) Once you submit an application, a volunteer from Amazing Greys then conducts an in person home check so that you can learn more about us and our community (all of our volunteers are fully vaccinated and must abide by our COVID Safety Plan)
4) Based on the home check, our adoptions team will suggest a suitable match for you*, and a meet and greet will be arranged with the foster home
5) After the meet and greet, should you decide to proceed the greyhound will be placed on a 3 week trial with you
5) At the completion of the trial period, our $400 fee will be due and the greyhound becomes an official member of your family!
Our team will keep in touch with you throughout the process and help you to settle in your new greyhound; but you will also have lifetime support, at any point post adoption our team can assist with referrals to qualified behaviourists and also providing resources and in home consultations where required.
*Where a suitable match is not available, you may be placed onto a wait list. Please note, we do not cat test and may refer applications with small animals to organisations that are able to assist with a placement
