About Baxter
MEET BAXTER!
Baxter is approximately 8 years & 10 months young, he is desexed, up to date with his vaccinations, microchip, health checked recently and parasite prevention. He is a purebred Blue Ragdoll looking for his furever home!
We are looking for a quiet retirement home for Baxter, preferably one where he is the only cat in the household. Baxter is entering his senior years, he's really looking for somewhere to retire, relax and spend the next 10 or so years in peace and quiet with love and food! Baxter settled into foster care within days, he's a pretty confident & relaxed gentleman that is just happy for a warm bed, lots of love and some good food.
Baxter is a regrettable surrender by his owners who had to move and couldn't take him with them, here's what they have to say:
He is the sweetest boy, he always wanted to be next to me or sitting on me! He will follow me around the house and even into the bathroom. He gives lots of head butts and really enjoys a brush, he would wait at the door for me to come home if I had to go out.
He is not very active these days, but he is very loving, he will often meow for attention and food so we hope his new home doesn't mind some talking!
Baxter would prefer to go to a home as the only cat however he is currently in foster care with other friendly cats and is okay as long as they give him the space he wants!
He would be a perfect companion for an older person/adult home that needs some company however he does also cope ok with young kids that want to pat him. He requires regular brushing to keep his ragdoll coat in top condition which is great for him since he enjoys it.
Baxter is an indoor only cat (however he would enjoy access to an outdoor enclosure if possible) but big windows with sunshine he can lounge in is also perfect. Baxter prefers to have access to multiple litter trays so at least 2 is a must!
His new home will receive all his vet paperwork and can have his vet history sent to the new clinic.
Medical notes
Baxter is 8 years young, we recommend putting him onto a premium brand dental diet such as royal canin dental or hills science diet dental, he has plaque on his teeth which is normal for his age, a dental diet will help to keep it under control.
He is a healthy adult and has been recently checked over by his vet.

Thank you for your interest in a rescue cat! They can make the most wonderful friends and family members.
Our rescue cats have varied histories and stories and as such they each require a different home environment, we ask prospective adopters a series of questions aimed at making the perfect match so please dont be offended when asked questions. We do not adopt to a first in first serve basis and only adopt to the most suitable home possible. If you are outside Ballarat we ask that you make time to have a 30 minute video-chat with us and the kitty you are interested in so we can get to know you a little better and you can see the kitty in its home environment before coming up to Ballarat to adopt, if you are local then we hold a meet and greet at the foster home of the kitty. We only offer video chats and meet and greets to the most suitable homes.
All of our cats at Cat Lovers Ballarat are rehomed as strictly INDOOR ONLY cats and we ask that all prospective adopters only apply if they are capable and comfortable with this.
Please have patience with us as we go through all applications and make our decisions to move onto phase 2 and offer meet and greets, this can take days and sometimes a week to go through, you will be contacted whether you are successful or not.
