About Hudson
Hudson is a one-year-old deaf red cattle dog. He was brought into a vet clinic to be euthanized because he was deaf and for doing what un-desexed males do – hump everything that moves. Apparently, neutering him wasn’t an option but luckily Hudson’s guardian angel just happened to be working at the clinic that day and convinced his owners to surrender him rather than put him to sleep.
Since then, Hudson has come along leaps and bounds and is making the most of his second chance.
His basic training is coming along well and has proven himself to be a very clever boy. He is very food motivated which helps immensely in his training but he still has some work to do on his leash manners and impulse control. He is also being crate trained.
Hudson has missed out on socialisation with other dogs as a pup but his carer is working hard on getting him more exposure in this area. He loves a good play but needs to learn he can’t just go and introduce himself. He currently lives with an older calm female who is teaching him some manners. Hudson needs a home with no cats, chooks, or pocket pets.
Hudson adores people of all ages and has grown up around kids aged 4-10. He can be a little excitable so a family with older kids would be preferable. Hudson is VERY VERY affectionate and prefers to be in close proximity to you. He would benefit from focusing on building his confidence and learning to be more independent so that he understands that when you go out you will be back. He adores a belly rub! Pat him once and he is rolling over for a belly scratch.
Hudson has the sweetest nature and is rather relaxed for a dog of his age and breed. His ideal family is one where someone is home more often than not and is willing to continue to work on his confidence and independence.
If you are looking for an easy dog to spend your days with, you can’t go past Hudson. He will happily keep you company in the home and garden and only your daily walks.

Adoption details
Hear No Evil's Adoption process:
1st Step * Complete the adoption application found at the following link. https://form.jotform.com/203212544415848
Once the application is completed and returned it will be assessed for suitability.
2nd Step * If your application is suitable you will receive a phone call from Admin to discuss the animal in more detail to see if it is right for you and your family.
3rd Step * A Meet and Greet with the dog and all members of the adopting family and current dogs is arranged where possible. If not a zoom meet will be held to answer any further questions you may have.
This usually coincides with a Yard check to ensure the safety and security of the property on which the dog will be kept. - We understand that this is not always possible in interstate adoptions and this will be discussed in your initial contact.
3rd Step *Payment of the nonrefundable adoption fee in full. The dog is then handed over with any belongings, and all relevant paperwork and records. In some circumstances and if deemed necessary the handover may be a staged process to ensure that the animal settles in properly within the household.
Transport arrangements are the financial responsibility of the Adopting party. Hear No Evil are happy to assist with departure preparations and ensure the dog makes its transport connection.
Final step * Once the 14-day' settling in' period has ended, the change of ownership microchip details are submitted, and the adoption is officially finalised.
