Pugs has some medical conditions that need to be considered that we will continue to pay for until he is well enough to adopt
We seek a home that is located or able to travel to The Lower Plenty Vet clinic to continue his treatment when required

Medical conditions
Pugs came to us after his elderly owner sadly passed away
After vet visits the following has been diagnosed in our little man
Grade 6 Heart Murmur
Rotten Teeth
Skin dermatitis

We have started him on heart medication to reduce the fluid around his heart and this will be most likely a lifelong requirement. Once his medication has reduced the fluid we can then put him under anesthetic to get his teeth fixed but at this point it's too dangerous.
For his Skin dermatitis he has started monthly injections and this on top of having his coat all shaved off tomorrow will reduce this and hopefully get that under control
Desexing again due to the high risk of issue under anesthetic with his heart he is not yet desexed and this will be done once his heart medication has taken effect.

As stated we will continue to pay for his medical needs and surgeries once it is time so we are seeking a
loving and caring home that are prepared to foster him until he is all medically sorted then that family can adopt him .

Pugs is such a little loving guy who we just adore.
Pugs is at his most happiest being around people and having all the pats, love and attention.
He loves to snuggle in giving great cuddles before bed time.
Favourite things:
Pugs loves having a play with the tennis ball thrown for him. He will also bring the ball back.
He has a little trot as he runs around the backyard that is absolutely gorgeous.
Interaction with humans:

Pugs is always ready to say hello to absolutely anyone, human or animal.
He has shown that he reacts well to men, women, teenagers, children and other dogs, even cows!
He is ready to move on with his walk once saying hello. He’s such a social pup.
Exercise:
He benefits from short walks, 15-30mins due to his heart condition he does get tired.
Obedience/Training:
Pugs has learnt to “stay and wait” until he is invited inside.
Pugs will benefit from further training. However he really is such an easy going pup.
He can be a little jumpy when a human visitors is around, this is due to him wanting their attention to have them pat him. Pugs is learning to “get down” and not jump up, he is reminded to use his manners ??
He does not jump all over other animals.
Pugs travels extremely well in the car, he will sometimes try to climb over to you if in the front passenger seat.
He travels best being in the back seats, he will settle, sit nicely and enjoy the ride.
Animal Social Skills:
Pugs has not met a cat as yet, however I believe he would be fine with them.
Around other dogs pugs has shown that he loves a friend to be around him.
His interaction with other dogs has shown he will say hello and be happy and content with them around.
Food:
Pugs is fed once a day in the afternoon, he is not food aggressive with other dogs around.
He does need to lose a little bit of weight, regular walks and not over feeding him will benefit with this.
Independence:
When Pugs is left alone he is happy to settle on his bed and snooze.
When left alone outside he will rest at the back door, if sunny he loves resting in the sun.
Bathing and hygiene:
Pugs enjoys a bath and a blow dry with the hairdryer. He is very well behaved at bath time.

Sleeping:
Pugs has been sleeping inside on his bed during the nights. He doesn’t show much interest in his kennel outside.
Exercise:
Pugs is being walked once a day for 15-30 minutes. He can tire easily due to his health.
Inside the home:
Pugs is well behaved inside the house, he came to us not toilet trained, however is learning that outside is for the toilet. He will benefit from having a doggy door so he can let himself out for the toilet.
He doesn’t jump on the couches, but is happy to be let up to sit and snuggle. He will then pop down and put himself to bed.
Ideal home:
Pugs will benefit from a home with someone who may be retired or home more often than not.
Someone who will give him the love and attention he strives for.
He would also benefit from having a doggy friend to keep him company.
Pugs forever home can include children and or teenagers also.

Foster Criteria
A home with any size yard would be suitable
A home where someone is home more often than not
A home without another dog is probably best as we dont want Pugs playing hard and over exerting himself until his heart meds kick in
A home that are in the vicinity of the Lower Plenty Vet clinic and can take him a couple of times a month for his checkups
