Beth - Dachshund X Kelpie(On Trial 12/11/22)

Beth is a beautiful Tan and Sable female 3mth old Dachshund x Kelpie who is a bubbly puppy that loves to play but also to sit on your lap or next to you and go to sleep. She loves to be around people.

Beth will be a Medium size dog with the long body of a dachshund and a big heart for affection. She loves to give as much love as she gets. She will be the friend who is always there when you need her but allows you space when you need it. Her favourite toys are anything she can chew, even loves a tennis ball if she can pull all the fluff off.

Learning commands is easy for Beth. She will sit on command (which she learned in less than a week) and drop when asked to give you a toy back. With this, Beth is still working on learning commands to go out to the toilet and has a puppy sized bladder so is still getting used to the idea but is eager to please and will pick it up quickly.

When Beth is meeting someone new (and sometimes objects like toys) she can take her time to get used to them but this doesn't take very long. Beth is curious with pocket pets and birds but gets used to them quickly and doesn't show much interest in them once she has met them a few times. She would fit in any family dynamic or single person. She has been with her sister for the past few weeks so would be able to be with another dog who likes to run around and play tug of war or would be happy on her own.

Beth is in foster care in the East Maitland, NSW area. They are not currently available for interstate adoption. The adoption fee is $700.00 and they are vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms and microchipped.

As Beth is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens areas because she will need to be returned to a DRN approved vet for desexing when she is 6 months old. Please NO out of area applications.

PLEASE NOTE: Dog Rescue Newcastle provides individual listings with specific requirements for each foster dog. If you submit an application or inquiry and DO NOT receive a response within 5 business days, please understand that you have not met the specific requirements for this dog. Please do not be disheartened or discouraged, this simply means you were not a suitable match at this time.

This organisation's adoption policy is moderate. What does this mean?

(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire: https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
(2) If the questionnaire is approved we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've applied for.
(3) After that we will arrange for you to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home, nearby park or your home.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
