About Chip
Through no fault of his own Chip found himself abandoned, alone, scared, running through the streets of Bendigo avoiding capture by many concerned residents until he found solitude on someones porch and met one of those pesky cats that bailed him up and kept him hostage until the kind cat owner came and saved him....
Arriving at BARC a nervous wreck after his ordeal Chip soon relaxed and realising he was safe greeted all staff with a tail wag and smile on his face with the spark quickly returning to his eyes.
This beautiful 12 month old shaggy boy is now seeking his new forever home with a calm and gentle natured family, willing to allow this boy time to decompress and develop his personality further whilst slowly reintroducing him to the wonders of the world and human kindness.
A real smoocher now, Chips would make a wonderful new family member and is willing to live with older kids who want to share their snacks and require a shaggy friend to watch them play Minecraft. Probably suffering from some PTSD regarding cats given he was held as a hostage, Chip would love a confident and calm dog who was respectful of his needs and would give him the space required.
If you think you have been missing a shaggy friend then BARC have the solution right here in Chips..
To book a meet and greet with Chips please phone 5441-2209 or email barcreception@bendigo.vic.gov.au . Due to the high volume of emails received, enquiries with a request for a specific appointment with phone details included will receive a response as priority over generic applications which state they are interested in meeting an animal.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
