With his lush ginger coat and topaz eyes, everything about Rusty is beautiful. With traits usually found in ginger kitties, Rusty is curious, playful and intelligent as well as devilishly handsome.

In Rusty’s eyes there is nothing better than having a good play session followed by a long kitten nap. Before he bunks down to sleep Rusty will wrap his gigantic fluffy tail around himself and switch on his deep purr engine.

This boy is a standout for many reasons; he likes to be in the thick of the action, his beauty commands attention wherever he goes and he makes the funniest little chirps and whirrs so you always know where he is.

Rusty came to us after he and his siblings were trying to survive behind dumpsters in an industrial area of Dandenong. This made him street smart but also a bit wary of people. IN foster care he has latched on to older cats for guidance, so Rusty will need at least one older cat in his forever home.

Rusty is emotionally complex; while he will engage with you in play and let you pat him, he is not a lap cat or overly affectionate with people. He prefers you to admire him from afar most of the time, but will indulge your need to stroke that magnificent coat more and more once he gets to know you.

Rusty will take time to settle in his new home so you must be a patient person. You will need to let Rusty be himself and come to you when he is ready. Rusty will love your cat/s first and then work on loving you too. It’s just the way he is.

Rusty would be great in a home with a single person or couple. If you have children they would need to be older to understand that Rusty walks to the beat of his own drum. Rusty does not get on with dogs so no dogs please. He is also not suited to being an only cat.

If you have the sort of lifestyle where you are out and about a fair bit and would like company for your cat, Rusty would be perfect. He doesn’t demand a lot of attention from people and will happily go about doing his own thing most of the time.

This photogenic boy is also an energetic boy, so it would be great if you want a kitty who will play, jump and run about the house. He is a cat of action who is just waiting for his own social media account to show off to the world!

Rusty is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea & worm treated and he is perfectly litter trained. He needs to be an indoors only cat as he was rescued from the streets and we don’t want him ending up back there.
