About Griffin
Griff came into rescue recently once he had emergency surgery after deciding eating a teddy bear whole was a good idea! This big goofball is still a puppy and learning his manners but coming along in leaps and bounds (literally)!
A gentle giant that loves a good romp around the yard with other dogs, followed by all the cuddles that you could ever offer and then the deepest sleep on his mat that only a tired-out puppy could achieve. Griffin took a few days to fully come out of his shell in a new environment but when he did his gorgeous personality shone through! He’s always the first to greet you at the door with his big smile and waggly tail. Griffin is gentle with kids but also has zero spatial awareness so may accidentally bump through them (and going to be a big boy)!
He has started a few classes of training at Beyond Obedience and took all the dogs and people in his stride. He was a bit anxious of a few people but within a few minutes of realising they weren't going to hurt him; they were his new best friend. Walks well on a halti. House trained, Griff will tell you when he needs to go out for the toilet and there have been no accidents in the house since he has come into care. Super adaptable and seems to deal with most things he has been exposed to (including fireworks).
Griffin is tested with dogs and cats, he can be intimidating in his puppy bounciness but with a reminder he will come back to being his dopey, gentle self. He has been living with 2 border collies and 2 cats. Although he initially needed a few reminders not to be too bouncy at the cats, he has settled in perfectly. He has also spent a few days out with the horses and didn't bat an eyelid. Happy to be left home inside with his friends and has not shown any destructive tendencies. He took a few days to be settled outside but is now fairly happy out there with an occasional whine. Griffin loves his food and will happily sit and wait until you tell him to eat. He will also not dive on dropped food if you give him a reminder that this is not OK. We are still working on getting some more weight on, he has already put on almost 10kg since coming into care. He loves his toys and a good game of tug of war!
The most loving, gentle giant that you will ever meet.
Medical notes
Griffin has recovered well from his teddy bear surgery. He has been desexed, microchipped and vaccinated.
