Dash has come into his own during his time with us, over the past months. He is a happy, loving little dog, who often requests belly scratches. He loves cuddles and will happily sit in your lap. He loves to stare up at your adoringly. In saying that Dash is also independent and spends a good amount of time napping in various places.
Dash loves his outdoor walks of approximately 30-40mins, twice a day. He loves to run for short bursts on his walks. Dash will give a signal he would like to run, but will always wait for permission before trotting on. Dash walks excellently on the lead and is extremely polite when greeting other dogs. Dash needs to be kept on the lead when walked, as he may run if startled.
He has developed a strong love of play and loves nothing more than to chase his ball, although he is still working on giving it back. While Dash is still learning how to bark, he will let out tiny squeals of joy when playing. He has become obsessed with his duck toy, and is now playing tug of war, showing how his confidence has grown. He loves to play fetch or search for treats in his snuffle mat a few times a day.
Dash has mastered house training. He now lets us know when he needs to go outside to do his business and has become very accustomed to routine! Dash doesn't like loud or sudden noises. He loves his humans to be together and flourishes when all members of the family are around. We think because he has a fear of abandonment.
Dash is more of a people dog, than a dog who expresses interest in other dogs. Dash has gained confidence and doesn't mind playing around other dogs. He has never shown any aggression towards another dog and has been socialising regularly at the dog park.
Dash will make a great companion for a low stress household where he would get moderate exercise. Dash wouldn't mind co-existing with other like-minded, calm and cuddly dogs. He is also happy as an only dog. As he is quite playful we could see Dash with a family, with older children possibly aged eight upwards as he will occasionally mouth during play, non aggressively. He would fit quite happily into this dynamic.
Dash is a happy, trusting little dog and will fill your life with cuddles, laughs and an abundance of love. What more could you want?

All our dogs are desexed, C5 vaccinated with intranasal, microchipped, wormed, and flea treated. All necessary vetwork such as dentals, surgery, eye treatment are also carried out. We are no longer heartworm testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.
Medical notes
Health: Dash has a heart condition but the cardiologist advises no medication is needed.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer free assistance for six weeks for any issues, a lifetime takeback policy with full refund of the adoption fee, and will always be available to offer advice.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.
