Cave is a great little puppy. Great size, great natured. I think he will make a great family dog. Currently living with teenagers. He doesn't really jump up at people.
Currently not too phased by our cat who he sees sparingly.
He loves to play and then chill on the couch with you. Plays with any kind of dog and excited
to meet new dogs. Loves the company of other dogs and resting close with them.
He is still a puppy so working on all his basic skills but very attentive.
He can be a little bit shy of new people but quickly adapts.
This little guy is going to need an extra special home. You will be rewarded by cuddles and
have a great excuse for having extra special time with Cave. Cave has megaesophagus. A
condition he will have forever. When Cave feeds and has water his esophagus muscles do
not function effectively to pass food to his stomach. He relies on gravity and needs to sit up
straight when eating and for 20 minutes afterwards. He has a special chair called a Bailey chair that you will feed him in and then need to keep him in an upward position. This is
where special cuddles can be had to help him be upright for longer. We currently do this twice, generally three, times a day and sometimes during the day when I realise he has had a big drink.
We will explain this all to you. It is very manageable but will require more of your attention and small amount of your time during the day every day then another dog in
your life. Due to his medical needs he would only suit people who will not leave him for extended periods.
You will build a very special connection with this boy due to this extra time. He is a great character, full of joy and love.

Medical notes
Cave has megaesophagus. Megaesophagus is a disorder that causes puppies to develop an enlarged esophagus that fails to pass food into the stomach. Often, these puppies cough/vomit up their meals and don't gain weight at the usual pace. They are also a high risk for aspiration pneumonia and lung infections. Cave needs to always be fed in a Bailey chair (will come with him) and have his weight monitored regularly. Food needs to be soft/pureed and meals need to divvied up into 3-4 times a day instead of twice. Please do your research on this condition. Cave is otherwise a happy, cuddly pup.
