About Kip
Meet Kip! A striking looking 19 month old kelpie boy who is on the look out for an extra special home. He is a little ray of sunshine who does not have a mean bone in his body and a fun, cheeky streak which brings a smile to everyone!
Kip is still learning to trust his humans. He has come a long way in foster care and is showing steady progress. He has a very strong bond with his foster mum and is starting to bond with other family members. He will need continued training to help build his confidence to reach his full potential. He can still get quite stressed around people he is not familiar with and seems to be more worried about men although is relaxing more each day around his foster dad. Overall, he is a little superstar with a beautiful, kind nature 💙
Kip's training has been focused on building a relationship with his carer and growing his confidence in general. He has learnt that toys are great fun and is always up for a game of tug! He is happy to entertain himself and will often run around the yard playing with his toys! Kip is in the beginning stages of learning 'middle' which his carer is very excited about and shows his fabulous progress! Once Kip builds a bond with you, he will LOOOOOVE you to bits! He is an affectionate boy who loves to snuggle into you. You will become the centre of his world - his recall is great!
What Kip lacks in human skills he certainly makes up for in dog skills. He gets on well with all dogs he meets and he is certainly liked by other dogs too. He has been around cats with no issues. He has a beautiful temperament and is a proper sweetheart with a fun sense of humour! Kip is generally a calm boy who will quite happily chill out and in the garden with his dog friends. He loves being inside and doesn't mind the odd snooze on the bed or sofa! He is toilet trained. Kip is still a pup in many ways and loves to steal shoes and socks if given the opportunity!
Kip sleeps inside in his crate quietly every night and it provides a safe place for him to retreat when he feels overwhelmed. It is important his new owner is familiar with crate training to help Kip settle into his new home and promote calmness and management.
Kip is looking for a quiet, calm home with a well balanced dog to take him under his/her wing. He would be best suited to a home on acreage with adults and possibly older children who will also be patient with Kip as he settles into his new home (please be aware this may take several months) Most of all, Kip is looking for a patient human who is dedicated to helping him overcome his struggles and providing him with a safe, secure and loving home.
