About Cardii
Hi, there! My name is Cardii, and I have a story to share that will tug at your heartstrings. You see, I've had a tough start in life, but I haven't let that dim my capacity for love. Now, I'm on a quest to find a forever home—a place where I can finally feel safe, cherished, and surrounded by warmth. And let me tell you, I have soooo much love to give in return!
Despite the hardships I've faced, my spirit remains unbreakable. I have this unwavering hope that somewhere out there, a family is waiting to welcome me with open arms. I yearn for that safe haven, where I can rest my weary head, knowing that I am loved beyond measure.
My heart leaps with joy at the sight of people. Their presence brings an indescribable happiness to my soul. I long for a family that will embrace me as I am, quirks and all, showering me with affection and kindness. But I must admit, the world of other animals scares me a bit. It's something I'm working on, though, with the guidance of the DRU team. They've been helping me build confidence and overcome my fears, step by gentle step.
During the day, I have a super fun job—I'm the neighbourhood watch dog! It's like being a superhero, but with floppy ears and a wagging tail. I take my duty very seriously as I sit by the door, making sure everything is safe and sound. But don't worry, I'm not all serious business. I like to greet the neighbours with a friendly wag and maybe a playful woof, letting them know that I'm on the lookout for any possums or mailmen.
And when I'm not on my neighbourhood watch adventures, you'll find me snuggled up right by your side. You see, I'm a big cuddle bug! I absolutely adore cozying up with my special humans, sharing warmth and love during our peaceful naps together. It's in those moments that I truly feel a sense of belonging and happiness.
You see, my anxiety can be overwhelming when I'm left alone. It's a deep-seated fear that I'm learning to conquer. That's why I'm searching for a family who understands the importance of patience and is willing to be there for me, especially during those crucial first moments in our journey together. They say I need a family who can be with me all the time 24/7, especially at the beginning. With your loving presence and reassurance, I know I can grow into the courageous and resilient dog I aspire to be.
Right now, I'm receiving medication that eases my worries and helps me feel secure. The DRU team has been by my side, providing unwavering support and expertise. They've emphasised that my rehabilitation will continue even after I find my forever family. So, I'm seeking a family who will work closely with DRU and our trusted trainers, continuing the transformative work they've started.
At 3 years old, I'm a Neo Mastiff Cross—a gentle giant with a heart overflowing with affection. The perfect home for me would have a fully fenced yard where I can frolic and play to my heart's content. It would be a peaceful oasis where I'm the sole furry companion, as I'm still navigating my journey towards complete ease around other animals.
I dream of a family experienced in large or Neo Mastiff breeds—a family who understands that love alone isn't enough, that it takes guidance, structure, and unwavering devotion to help a dog like me heal. In return, I promise to be the most loyal and protective companion you could ever imagine. I'll stand by your side, a steadfast guardian, ensuring you never face the scary bathroom or any other challenge alone.
Now, I won't lie to you; there's work ahead of us. But with the incredible support of the DRU team, my regular medication schedule, and the assistance of their dedicated care team and affiliate trainers, we have an army of love and expertise behind us.
If you feel a tug in your heartstrings and think you could be my forever cuddle buddy, please email dogs@deathrowunchained.org. I'm eagerly awaiting the moment our paths intertwine, where I can gaze into your eyes and show you the depth of my gratitude. Together, we'll embark on a transformative journey—one filled with boundless love, healing, and the unwavering loyalty of a rescue dog who will etch herself into your heart forever. Choose me, Cardii, and let's create a legacy of love that will endure for all time.
