About Freya
********************** PLEASE APPLY AT www.gsrv.com.au ****************************
Freya is a stunning 3-year-old sable, working line German Shepherd who finds herself in need of a loving forever home.
Freya was purchased just as the pandemic started and as a result, Freya’s owner was home for a considerable amount of time. When Freya’s owner returned to work, she struggled to cope, and her owner purchased another dog to keep Freya company. This did not solve the problem and Freya and the other dog did not get along. It is clear that Freya loves her owners, and she would much rather be with her humans and without the company of another dog.
As a working line German Shepherd, Freya craves mental and physical stimulation. This beautiful girl would thrive with an active family who can not only train her but also give her enrichment, she would enjoy any games that are stimulating from puzzles through to physical challenges. Freya is an intelligent young girl who learns quickly, she will be a fun-loving and extremely affectionate addition to the right family.
Freya loves meeting new people and get a little over-excited when she says hello. Freya has had little training and can be jumpy and mouthy when over-stimulated, therefore needs to learn impulse control and will need to be taught manners and boundaries. Due to her boisterous nature and limited training, Freya needs to be in a home where any children are over the age of 12 years old. Freya initially pulls hard when on a walk but responds well to correction and soon settles in to walk reasonably well, she will need an experienced owner that is physically capable of handling her.
Due to her lack of socialisation and frustrating experiences with other dogs previously, Freya is extremely dog reactive and finds it very difficult to focus her attention away whenever she knows another dog is nearby. Freya will put on a big show of barking, lunging, and growling when faced with another dog, this includes through the fence line when she knows another dog is on the other side and she is extremely frustrated. Freya will need an experienced owner to help her navigate the outside world when she sees other dogs. Freya will need to be the only dog in her new home and is not suited to a household with cats or other small animals.
Freya currently spends majority of her life in the backyard on her own, she wants nothing more than to be invited inside with her humans and is desperate to be loved and included as part of the family. Freya is craving companionship and would love the opportunity to cuddle up on the couch, she gets worried when left alone and would be best suited to a household where someone is home most of the time. Freya is incredibly affectionate with those she loves most and forms a strong bond with her people, she is as loyal as they come, a true German Shadow that follows you all around the house.
Freya will need training and consistent boundaries; this is exactly what she craves and needs so that she can reach her full potential! Freya wants her humans to show her attention and invest time into her, and in return she will thrive and embrace the training with enthusiasm and love.

Adoption details
We offer a 'Foster to Adopt' program. This means that the dog will go to live with their adoptive family for 4 weeks to ensure it is the perfect match for both the dog and new family. After the 4 weeks is complete, if all has gone well, the adoption is formalised and your new doggy companion is officially yours!
If you are interested in adopting from us, we ask that you fill out the Adoption Application form on our website (via the link provided below) with as much detail as possible, including the name of the dog you are interested in.
We do not rehome female dogs to a home where there is an existing female dog. Whilst there are always exceptions, it is generally unwise to have two females together; two males can sort it out, a male and a female can sort it out, but when two females fight, the results can be disastrous. For this reason, following the advice from numerous Veterinary behaviourists, as well as our own experience from the last eight years, we do not rehome females into homes with other female dogs.
All of our dogs are de-sexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea and worm treated
Puppies (2 months to 4 months) - $1000

Adolescents (6 months to 1 year) - $700
