A pair of older, polished gems!
Foster or Foster with view to Adopt.
This beautiful duo finds themselves in need of a new home. Their elderly person passed, and the family could not take them in.
They are such a handsome couple and very much familiar friends, who we wish to rehome together. Whilst individuals, they will sleep in each other’s beds, they will share the same food bowl and often exchange nose kisses and rubs and follow each other about.
Toby (11 YO) is a friendly, happy little guy, who gets super excited at the prospect of his daily walks and likes to get a little pace up. He cannot be let off leash as he will joyfully run and chase butterflies and anything else that takes his fancy. He is well mannered and polite and helps put his harness on by lifting his foot and placing it within the harness. He understands the sit command, will shake hands and is house trained. Toby gets along well with small dogs, however, is overwhelmed by large dogs and will bark and pull away; after all, he is only a wee 3.5kg.
Chewie (13 YO) is one of the friendliest and smochiest of cats – he purrs easily and simply adores a good ear scratch and head rub. He is laid back and not fazed by most things. Chewie is most content curled up on his foster carer’s lap and being cuddled. He will allow you to pick him up and carry him about, although, he is a large cat (6.5kg) and could probably squash little Toby if he sat on him! Chewie is litter box trained.
Our ginger duo is in urgent need of a home to call their own. If you are looking for a readymade family, you will find none better.
Please note: our dogs are not available for interstate adoption. We also do not adopt to people under the age of 25 years.

All our dogs are desexed, C5 vaccinated with intranasal, microchipped, wormed, and flea treated. All necessary vetwork such as dentals, surgery, eye treatment are also carried out. We are no longer heartworm testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer free assistance for six weeks for any issues, a lifetime takeback policy with full refund of the adoption fee, and will always be available to offer advice.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.

We look forward to receiving your application.

We appreciate our sponsors and all our donors so much, as without them we would not be able to save the pets we do, or run our programs that reach into the community to give a helping hand. Are you able to donate, sponsor or want to leave a bequest?
