About Dozer
Re-Introducing Dozer! He is a Kelpie x Staffy born 1st December 2021.
Dozer is a sweet young man who loves nothing more than spending time with people.
Dozer has become very stressed in the facility & he has started to become institutionalised and takes comfort in his kennel. He no longer wants to go out for walks or leave the facility. When he does walk he can pull on the lead, especially if he's close to his safe place.
Unfortunately Dozer didn't test well with other dogs & we are recommending he be the only animal at home.
Dozer has shown signs of general anxiety which has been heightened by living in the kennel environment for the last 4 months. While this may settle in a home environment he might need some extra love, patience & training while he settles in. As Dozer is so stressed we are recommending a home with children over 12yrs as we feel younger children would be too overwhelming for him.
When Dozer came in to us we believe that he had been chained in a backyard and had no training or socialisation. He would be calm & affectionate while on lead, but would completely freeze and not know what to do when the lead was taken off. Due to this he doesn't know how to "dog" properly. He doesn't know how to play with toys or how to wrestle with humans. We don't believe he's had any training as he doesn't know how to sit or recognise commands.
Dozer is such a loving man and wants nothing more than a home he can call his own and not have to worry about losing another family.
If you think you could be that furever family for Dozer, please contact our friendly staff via email at ccacfpetadoptions@gmail.com or 0499 900 272 to organise a meet and greet.
Dozer’s adoption fee has been sponsored. This includes his desexing, vaccination and lifetime registration. Dozer is also regularly treated for fleas and worms.
Dozer is currently located in East Maitland.
Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
