About Alfie
Hello hello hello, such a pleasure to meet you. My name is Alfie and the staff here have promised me that I am going to an amazing home with a wonderful hooman that will love me and care for me for the rest of my life, is that you? As I require a little extra care and patience, it would be great if my new family is used to looking after cats and is home more often than usual.
I came to the shelter as I was very naughty and ate an OOSHIE! But guess what, this was not the first time I ate something I shouldn't have! The first time, my previous owner had to pay for expensive surgery to remove a life threatening obstruction! This time thankfully, I managed to pass it without having to have surgery. So..... it's probably best that I go to a home without young children, as they are more likely to leave little "presents" around that I might pick up and have a chew on, so I need to go to a household with only older children and adults please. But everybody in the household will still have to be mindful of not leaving small items around that I might think are for me to play with (eg: hair elastics!) I'm also not particularly fond of other cats, so I really need to be the only feline in the house. I promise that means you'll get all my love and attention once I open up with you. So now I am waiting here until the right fur-ever family comes along.
I have recovered from Feline Calicivirus. It is very similar to what a cold looks like in humans but it also causes painful mouth ulcers. While I have recovered, I will always have it in my system and under times of stress I can show symptoms of it again. If I go home with other felines it would be best to keep us separated for the first two weeks so I don't risk spreading it to them. I will also need to be an indoor only cat for the rest of my life. If in the future you notice me coming down with the "flu" (sneezing, watery eyes, discharge) then it would be best to take me to the vet for a check up.
I cannot wait for all the love and cuddles I am going to get and I have been imagining all the ways I can show you how much I love you, rubbing up against your leg when you get home, curling up on your lap, purring and napping on your bed.
So, if I sound like the cat for you, come and adopt me already!
Love Alfie xXx
