About Mac
G'day, my name is Mac. I'm an 8 year old black & tan Kelpie fella and I have been a dedicated working dog all my life.
It was time for me to retire, so now I am on the hunt for a lovely home and a place to call my own. I am looking for some kind humans who are happy to let me enjoy a quieter, slow-paced life and have room in their lives for a polite older gentleman.
In foster care I have enjoyed such things as; napping on the sunny deck, strolls along the promenade, short walks to local cafes, and meeting other dogs and humans on my wanderings. Although I am a pretty easy going kind of bloke, I haven't previously had a lot of interaction outside my work place, so you may need to have patience with me in some types of brand new experiences.
My Foster Mum reckons my basic training is pretty good. I know my name and I come when I am called, I walk well on a lead, I wait to cross the road when asked to and I am house/toilet trained. I would be ok as a solo dog, I mostly nap if left home by myself. I'd be pretty keen to join some human retirees and just do a lot of pottering about with you!
Due to being a dedicated hard worker all my life, it has resulted in a couple of ailments that will need continued monitoring once adopted. I have recently had Zydax injections to assist with easing arthritis inflammation and Metacam tablets for associated pain management (only if required). I am also taking Antinol Rapid daily for general joint wellbeing and to assist my movement. It is important that my adopter is willing to provide a low energy lifestyle with only short, slow walks and is willing to take on the cost of any ongoing medical treatment.
If I sound like a guy you need in your life, don't hold back! Apply today!

Adoption details
To apply to adopt a dog from Dogs4Jobs, you must firstly complete our adoptions application form in full at http://dogs4jobs.com.au/adoption-form/.
You can also write out your answers and email them to dogs@dogs4jobs.com.au
*Please note, due to the high volume of applications received, we will not respond to Petrescue chat messages, or enquiries to adopt a dog. You must complete our adoptions form to be considered for the dog or pup, and we will respond to this form via our email.
We will then request to complete a yard check, or for you to send in photos of your yard showing the fencing, space, shelter and any hazards etc, to confirm it is safe and secure, as well as adequate space for a working breed dog.
Following this, we will then put you in touch with the dog/s foster carer/s that you are interested in, to chat further over the phone, about whether the dog is a good fit for your family, and vice versa. We are searching for the perfect match for each dog and their needs. A meet and greet can be arranged if both parties wish to proceed, and we also offer interstate adoption on all of our dogs.
