About Jay Jay
Why hello, it's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Jay Jay, and I am the biggest baby you will ever meet! I spent a few months being spoilt at a pound, but unfortunately, I was always getting overlooked for the more confident or younger dogs, and nobody wanted to me (except all the lovely staff that doted on me, and spoilt me soooooo much!!!!). After a few months of no interest, they thought it might be better for me to spend some time in a home environment, so let the Fin, Furred N Feathered team take me in! And boy, have I continued to be spoilt!
Once I get to know you (which doesn't take long!!), I will become your best friend, and want to spend every minute with you!! I become super playful and cheeky, and will follow you everywhere! But don't worry, I don't have separation anxiety, so I don't mind if my new owner works full time, as long as I get plenty of time with you when you are home! In fact, I am a really quiet boy, and only bark if there is something going on that I need to tell my foster mumma about!
I get along great with other dogs, but don't really like dominant dogs, or noisy and boisterous dogs, as they are quite annoying! And smaller dogs, they tend to pick on me a bit, so I would prefer a home with bigger, laid back dogs! And I definitely don't want to go to a home with cats or other small animals! Cats can be scary!!! I try to be tough, and bark at them when they stir me up, but then they hiss, and have claws, and it's just too much for me! So no cats or smaller animals please! I also don't want a home with young kids, as they can also be loud and scary! I wouldn't mind older kids, as long as they are gentle with me!
I will need an owner that is going to continue socializing me, and showing me the world isn't scary! I dont like going for walks yet, as there are so many scary things outside! So I will need an owner that will be patient with me, and take it slow, and take the time to build my confidence! I do, however, love car rides!

I promise, you will fall in love with my big doughy baby eyes, and will love my gentle but cheeky nature! Everyone falls in love with me, they just can't help it!

*** If the new owner completes 12 weeks of training, behavioural or socialisation classes for this dog; Fin, Furred N Feathered will refund $100 of the adoption fee back to the owners, upon showing proof that they have attended, such as a certificate of completion. This can be either one-on-one with a trainer, group classes, or any other form of formal training.
Adoption details
If interested in an animal that is available for adoption, we require you to fill out an adoption application, and one of our lovely foster carers will give you a call to organise a time for a meet and greet. Depending on the requirements of the animal, a house/property inspection may be required. It is a requirement that any dogs being adopted into a pre-existing dog home, will need to have a meet and greet with the dogs, to ensure they are a good match.
If approved for adoption, a mutually convenient time will be arranged, to complete the adoption paperwork. A trial adoption can be offered under certain circumstances if required, but will not be an option for every animal. It is at the discretion of Fin, Furred N Feathered, if this is an option. If you would like a trial adoption of 2 weeks, please speak to us! The adoption fee will need to be paid in full, before a trial adoption can take place.
If not approved for adoption, we are more than happy to have a chat with you, why you were not successful for that animal, to see if we can help you find your perfect family member!
**Please note: As we are very busy people, working full time jobs, and taking care of all our lovely animals (our most important and rewarding job!!), we require all interested people fill out an application, rather than send an enquiry, as this helps us know more about you and what you are after, and saves us all a lot of time!
