Amalie is a happy go lucky lady with a beautiful temperament and striking good looks - her black coat and chocolate undercoat shimmers in the daylight ✨ she gets compliments wherever she goes and most say she has a regal air about her.
The cool cucumber slotted into her foster home like she’d always been there. She waltzed in through the human door on night one (see video!) and found herself a nice spot on the couch and watched the goings on without even a stir. She is a pleasure to have around, she must have lived indoors in her previous home as she is nicely house trained and hasn’t had one accident since being here (doggy door available at all times).
She responds very well to tone of voice and you can stop her from doing something with a simple ‘uh uh’. She sits, shakes, waits for meals and loves the car. She is learning to wait for pats instead of demanding them and to not pull on the lead, the walking at heel is a work in progress. She makes a great site supervisor as she will let you know when someone is on the property but is friendly with all visitors.
Her three favourite activities are sun-baking, getting love from humans and playing chasey with her foster fur brother. She is ideally looking for a home with a more submissive, playful dog or an owner around a lot. She is well-occupied with her foster fur brother all day while her carer works relatively long hours at the moment.
Her ideal doggy companion would be medium sized and respectful but playful. She doesn’t enjoy bouncy dogs in her face. She will often be the one to initiate play so a resident dog that is tolerant of that would be required.
An indoor-outdoor lifestyle where she can come and go would suit her best as she enjoys laying out in the morning sun but then likes to snooze inside on the couch in the afternoon. What a life!
Amalie wouldn’t mind some teenagers to rough house with but might be too strong for younger children. She is seeking a home with a commitment to continuing her training and many belly rubs. If you can provide her this, she would love to meet you!
