Meet Leia! Surrendered to the shelter with some problem behaviours, Leia has been at the shelter and working with our staff, and is finally ready for her new forever home.

Leia can be a bit of a stress head when it comes to new environments, and she is going to need a home that will be patient with her, will allow her time to settle in and get comfortable, and MOST importantly, have little expectations of her. She loves people but can take some time to warm up, and one of her favourite things to do is to sit in your lap while you work, read, or watch telly.

She can be a bit funny about being picked up, as she prefers to have her say when that happens, and she loathes being mishandled; for this reason she is not suited to live with children of any age, and her new owners need to take her wants into consideration. We think that she will be a cat that loves to play once she is more settled, but currently she is just content to be around you. She is incredibly food motivated so can be trained using treats (we are already working on sit!)

Leia is not a cat that is suited for first time pet owners, and we are encouraging her new family to have some experience with cats. Leia is a lovely and affectionate cat who enjoys and is happiest in a calm home environment; she is not suited to apartment living as she prefers the space that homes provide, and she would LOVE a cat run if you have it for her.
