Easily loveable and oh so loyal Peeko is now seeking his forever family.

Peeko has a snuggly gentle nature who just wants to be loved.Peeko is a mix of Labrador x Border Collie He weighs in at 27 kilos and is a medium build.

Peeko loves attention and positive reinforcement when he has been a good boy. He does the best zoomies, enjoys playing fetch with a ball or frisbee, to burn off energy.

He is a very handsome pup with a gentle temperament and a lovely glossy soft coat. His affectionate personality and willingness to please makes him a truly wonderful companion.

CAR

Peeko is an excellent traveller and happily jumps into the back of the car. He will quietly lie down while driving to his next adventure.

FOOD

Peeko is food and treat motivated, he eats a dry kibble dinner and given the chance, will attempt to eat his foster sisters too. He will sit and knows to shake his paw when receiving treats. Peeko thoroughly enjoys tackling a meaty lamb neck under his favourite tree in the garden. It is worth noting that he is very protective of his bone if another dog is present ad as with all dogs we recommend feeding bones completely separate.

OUTSIDE

Peeko absolutely loves being the centre of attention and happily greets people and other dogs with his very cute waggy tail and enthusiastic temperament. He is confident when meeting new people and dogs. Peeko has proven that staying home alone with his foster sister is ok too and he will play with the toys provided.

ENRICHMENT

Peeko loves walks on the lead and exploring new routes. He is fantastic off the lead at the park and benefits from a lot of exercise, stimulation and new experiences. He is an active dog who enjoys being given new situations to navigate and learn from followed by lots of positive reinforcement.

INDEPENDENCE

Peeko is confident and well adjusted. He doesn’t complain when humans are out, he will play in the backyard, nap in the sun, chase his foster sister and play with his toys.

WALKS

Peeko will benefit from continued lead training. He is also very happy to walk off the lead next to you while staying close. Once trust has been established, he will look to you for his next command, ie changing direction, treat, running or going back on the lead. He is not fazed by loud noises, cars or other dogs. He will happily greet other dogs and people of all ages. He may occasionally jump up when meeting people off lead. Peeko initially lacked confidence on lead ( did not like things around his neck ) and we have found that he absolutely sone in his confidence when walking with another dog

OBEDIENCE

Peeko follows basic commands - sit, shake (paw), come, lie down (on your bed), get your ball. He is a keen learner as he is eager to please.

He responds well to training and will benefit from ongoing training and trust building. He is incredibly loyal and will look to you for his next move.

INSIDE

Peeko will quickly work out where his bed is and the next most comfortable spot, ie the couch, preferably right next to a human. He is super snuggly and loves to be patted. He believes everyone loves him and will position himself to maximise receiving attention while looking lovingly at you with his gorgeous brown eyes. He loves to keep an eye on what is happening in the street and will quietly alert you to visitors by standing at the window and looking out.

SOCIABILITY

Peeko is well socialised and likes all kinds of dogs. He loves a bit of teeth play, wrestling, being chased, teasing/playing with his foster sister and will be talkative when all of this is happening. Although he has not been exposed to cats/birds while in foster care, he is such a gently boy he should get on well with them. As Peeko is super friendly, confident and loving he will be the best companion for his new human/s. Peeko is highly adaptable and will be happy living somewhere where he receives cuddles, pats and lots of amazing new experiences.

SLEEP

Peeko sleeps inside and will either curl up on his bed or the couch (especially if he can share it with his human). He loves the warmth of the sun and also enjoys naps on the deck.

He is a great sleeper and makes it through the night without a peep.

TOILET

Peeko is completely house trained and knows how to do his business on the grass in the garden.

Adoption Criteria for Peeko

A home with another dog would definitely be our preference as he loves to have a friend . We would be seeking a med to large well socialised female

A home with a good size yard with secure fencing and plenty of shade and shelter

A home that is prepared to give Peeko daily exercise, interaction and stimulation.

A home that will spend time training him to ensure he matures into the best dog he can be

A home where he is adored. This boy will give so much to his new humans and he will provide you with much laughter, joy and love in return.

A home with children would be fine but as Peeko can jump up for pats when excited we seek dog savvy mature age children
