About Cherry STA009918
Cherry is a beautiful girl who came to us a very pregnant and scared stray. She wasn’t coping in the Shelter so was placed into foster care to raise her kittens in a quiet and loving environment. Cherry was a wonderful mother but her trust with humans was almost zero. She has been in foster care for sometime and the change in her is amazing, and she is now ready to find her very own home and human to love.
Her perfect home is with another friendly feline who will continue to show her humans can be trusted, a quiet home without children or dogs.
If you think you have the perfect home for Cherry please contact us to arrange an appointment to meet her, she will remain in foster until she finds her own human to love as she does not cope in the shelter.
From her Foster Home -
Cherry is an exceptionally loving cat that especially loves other cats and will be great friends with any cat she sees. While she is still warming up to being around people, she enjoys being around them, kissing against your leg, and peeking around corners to check in on what you are doing.
She will need a family that will be patient with her as she is shy around new people, however with a cat friend she will quickly come out of her shell and start chatting away. Unfortunately, she wouldn’t be suitable for a family with children or dogs, as sudden movements and noises are quite scary for her. She is a lover of music and it is quite calming for her, she’s an avid explorer and enjoys seeing new things and places. She is seemingly always behind on muffin orders so often makes them while on the move, stomping whilst wandering around purring.
She enjoys playing with ping pong balls, laser pointers, and the stick side of teaser toys. Cherry loves pats around the head and between her shoulders. She is not the biggest fan of being picked up or carried
Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
