About Hoolie
HOOLIE ❤️ Is adorable 6 year old female Chihuahua mix
This girl has excelled in her foster home.
Hi I’m Hoolie and I’m looking for a family to call my very own.
I’m a super snuggly cuddle bug that just loves being with my foster humans. I’ll need someone who’s home more often than not to help me settle and feel safe. My foster mum and dad think I’m totally gorgeous and a very good girl.
If you already have a dog I’d be best with a small friend who’s willing to share our human’s with me, otherwise I’d love to be the only dog. I’m currently in care with another dog and I’m the boss.
I’m great in the car and love going for walks. I have only just learnt about going walking on my lead but I’m a very quick learner. I am still getting used to other dogs while out walking but am learning to just walk on, enjoy the smells and ignore them.
I’m very food motivated and was a bit chubby when my foster mum and dad got me but I’m getting fit from my walks and my stricter diet and have started to get my bikini body back.
I appear timid at first, I’m easily won over with some chicken or a treat and of course lots of love and gentle pats. I’m nervous of being picked up and might do a little nervous wee but once you tell me “up” I know I’m okay.
I’d love to accompany you on outings and adventures as I’m naturally curious and small enough to take pretty much anywhere. Because I’m a chihuahua cross I will alert you to outside noise but that will ease as I settle and get used to my home. That’s why I have such big but pretty ears!
I sleep through the night without a peep in my own bed but would love to join you in your bed if allowed.
I’m toilet trained once I know where to go. I’ve learnt to do stairs and use the doggie doors - my foster mum thinks I’m a very quick learner and ever so clever.
I am very obedient and won’t get on the furniture unless you allow me to. If I am allowed I love to jump onto your lap for cuddles.
Because of my timid nature and my past history with only elderly owners, I’m not really suited to a home with children.
If you think I’d make a great companion for you, please organise a meet so you can start giving me cuddles!
Medical notes
Recently has a dental and hernia surgery.
Adoption details
We list animals for adoption on Pet Rescue as well as on our own Animals-in-Need Website. We talk with people who contact about an animal to see what their needs and situation are. My emphasis is on getting the right animal for the people and the right people for the animal. If everyone's needs are met things usually work out well.
Please note all our cats are indoor cats only.
If the situation sounds good we arrange a meeting. If all goes well we let people try the animal out for a couple of weeks to ensure that everyone is happy.
We keep records of all adopters, follow up to ensure all is well and undertake to take back any animal if circumstances change.
