Profile and needs in a home
Info for profile notes
Betty Boo (Betty for short) is a 3 year old ex-racer from a remote country area.
Betty Boo is a sweet, cuddly, loving big girl who is learning to adjust to retirement life in a busy city.
Betty is currently living with another older greyhound who she hets on well with. Betty has met her carer's mums small fluffy poodle mix and was excited but not aggressive.
Betty is good with children but can get a bit excited so would be better suited to a home with children over the age of 10 years old who are kind and gentle with children
Betty loves toys and collecting them on her bed:) cuddles, being with my humans, and food:)
Betty is houestrained in her foster home however obviously her new home will be a new environment so her new owner will have to set Betty up to succeed with this in first few weeks.
We are looking for a home that really wants Betty to be part of the family and can include her as much as possible in their daily lives.
Like all of our dogs Betty must be permitted access inside at all times and sleep inside in a warm area of the home at night. Betty is currently sleeping in the bedroom.on her own bed and both Betty and us we would prefer if her new home allowed these sleeping arrangements to continue.
Betty is good in the car, happy to get in and out of the car then lay down for the trip so a home that is able to take her in the car from time to time for new adventures is the best fit for Betty.
Betty is ok to be left alone 4 to 5 hours a day with her foster sister. Whilst she is currently living in a home with a yard her carer believes she may also suit apartment living or a home with a smaller garden/courtyard provided she was taking for a nice long walk a few times a day.
Betty is doing well adjusting to life in the city but will need a patient owner who can give her space during settling in period and continue to work with her to settle into retirement life in the big smoke using only force-free, reward based training methods whilst not over whelming her.
if you would like to meet Betty Boo please send us an email to sasrescue@gmail.com with
