About Sage
Beautiful Sage is a unique girl who needs a special home with patient paw parents who will give her time to relax and adjust. Once she’s relaxed she is super affectionate and can’t get enough pats and chin scratches!
She has the most beautiful green eyes and a long spotted tabby coat.
Sage was left behind when her owners moved house. The new owners fed her but let her have litter after litter in their backyard.
When she rejected her 5 newborn kittens the new owners called us to take them in. We managed to save 3 who have all found wonderful homes.
Sage has settled into her foster home beautifully and enjoys pats and sleeping curled up by the fire or on a warm lap. She learned to love her creature comforts and now enjoys a fully belly and a comfy bed.
However, when she first transitions to a new home she is nervous. If she is let free to explore the whole house she will hide.
Sage needs time to get to know her new people and surroundings and would need a few weeks contained to a bathroom, laundry or spare room, where she is free to explore a small space, but cannot hide or escape.
Sage is wonderful around dogs and other cats, but would prefer a home with no kids or calm, gentle children over the age of 10 to help her learn to trust again.
Ideally Sage would be fostered with a view to adopt to ensure she gets the right fit for her forever home.
Adoption details
ADOPTION PROCESS:
1. An Adoption enquiry should be made via
https://form.jotform.com/shellys.place.rescue/adoption-enquiry
2. Once your application has been received, one of our volunteers will contact you for a phone interview. This is to determine whether one of our cats or kittens will be a good fit for your home. We all want long-term success in placing rescue animals, so finding the best fit for the animal AND the family is very important.
3. 'Meet & Greet' with the animal and their carer will then take place if the application is approved.
4. A Property check will take place via a video call (due to Covid restrictions). Once this has been successfully completed, adoption paperwork finalised and the adoption donation processed, the pet can be collected from foster care.
5. A 14 day settling-in period commences once the animal has been collected from foster care.
6. Adoption is finalised after 14 days. Paperwork/records will be included in an adoption pack.
7. All animals for adoption are kept up to date with vet work until the date of adoption. The pet will be rehomed desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and treated monthly for fleas and intestinal worms. Once the adoption is finalised, the new owners are responsible for all vaccinations and preventative treatments.
As we are run entirely of volunteers we endeavour to respond to your enquiry as soon as we can. Your patience is greatly appreciated.
PLEASE NOTE: We are unable to hold any animals. Please only apply if you are ready to adopt now.
