Wrinkle

Hi There,
My name is Wrinkle, I am a female, adolescent, Shar Pei.
The staff at Yagoona shelter really love me and think I am a sweetheart, they see the potential in me and cant wait to hear that I am in a patient, kind and loving home. Please ask the staff if you would like to meet me so we can commence our new lives together. Here is some more information for us to get acquainted.

I would be best suited with an experienced owner, so you can help me with walking in the big wide world and especially when meeting other dogs. To best help me with this, with your experience of owning other dogs and also engaging in a one on one training. So they can expand your experience and open up your world to how I am thinking and feeling, by way of body language, and my subtle responses. As I am a Shar Pei, my cues can sometimes be harder to spot. I am very trainable and very interested in those yummy treats the staff use during my walks.

In regards to children and pocket pets I ask that the family has no younger children, specifically under 12 yrs. I really will go well if I am an only pet, because I really need the whole family to understand me.
I do often enjoy pats and scratches but I will need you help read some of my signals when I have had enough patting for one session. I will need the house hold to be able to respect my boundaries, when I do things like, leave the area or let me settle on my bed as sometimes I may be just getting too hot.

While I have been at the shelter for few months, the staff have discovered that I am a little bit selective when meeting dogs. So when we are walking, sometimes I want to meet them and will pull to say hello and other times I am not interested and that's okay too. The main thing is that I am not forced to meet any over excited dogs that may scare me. And that you get the help of a training that will help guide you on when I do want to say hello and when I don't, of course your other dog experience will also be beneficial for this too.
