About Sandy

Seeking foster or foster with a view to adoption
Smiley Sandy - this is a face you've seen before.
Loyal, loving, devoted to her people - that's Sandy.
Every person who has met and interacted with Sandy - carers, transport volunteers, vet staff, kennel staff - have all said she's just a really lovely dog. Hands down a total sweetheart. She loves to be close to you and be stroked and fussed over.
Our super sweet girl has had a couple of foster placements now that unfortunately haven't worked out but we know the perfect home is out there waiting to welcome her with open arms.
Don't stop reading now, please.
It sounds like there's 'something wrong' with a dog when we say that they've had other homes that haven't worked out.
But maybe there's something just right about your home for her!
Here's some things we know:
- Sandy likes company. She loves her people and she doesn't like to be left home alone to wonder where you are and if you're ever coming back. She's best suited to a retired person, someone who works from home, a family who likes to be with their dog the majority of the time.
- Sandy unfortunately is not suited to living near or with chickens or livestock. We'll extend this to cats and other small animals too. We found what seemed to be absolutely the perfect place for her but sadly she met the resident chooks and one didn't survive their encounter. 😥
At 5 years of age, Sandy is well past any puppy mayhem but still youthful and full of life.
She's generally social with other dogs so may be able to live with another dog pending a meet.
She's a big girl but knows commands, responds to her name and is generally great to have around.
Sandy's adoption fee is REDUCED to $350.
Our priority is getting her out of boarding kennels and into a home so if your home is perfect but the adoption fee is an issue right now, get in touch.
In kennels, she's been an angel despite clearly wanting to get into a home. She's not destructive or overly vocal.
Sandy is desexed, microchipped and vaccinated and ready to meet you today.
Message the page or email avonvalley@safe.org.au if you're keen!
