ABOUT SOPHIE

Sophie is the sweetest little dog you could find. She interchanges resting by your side with by your feet. Despite her age she has bouts of energy where she wants to play and zoom around, but these are very manageable in a restricted space due to her small stature and age (it doesn't last too long). Sophie also walks beautifully on the lead, walking right beside you. Sophie is house trained. She hasn't mastered the doggy door, but sits patiently by the door to let you know she's ready to go outside. Sophie sleeps well through the night in her little bed by my bedside. She has a healthy appetite and loves to accompany you to the kitchen to see if there are any treats on offer. If Sophie wants to be lifted onto the couch to snuggle she stands patiently where you can see her. A set of doggy steps can assist her to do this on her own (she is familiar with doggy steps).

MEDICAL NOTES

Sophie had a sarcoma removed under her ear in September 2022. There are no visible signs of other tumors. Sophie has been taking some herbal anti-cancer powders in her meals (these will come with her).

BEHAVIOUR NOTES

Sophie has separation anxiety. Sophie cannot be left alone without a human without crying/wailing loudly. She may be okay for short periods of time <30 minutes, but it stresses her.

Sophie is great with other small dogs when she doesn't feel threatened. Due to her small size, she is timid and growls when first meeting bigger dogs.

Difficult Coat - Grooming required

Sophie is small so can fit through small gaps and under fences and gates without too much effort. She shows no desire to escape, but might be curious to explore.
