About Addison
This beautiful little boy can not catch a break - Addison was adopted and the trial period had finished a few days earlier - yet our director received a phone call yesterday late afternoon to say Addison was picked up wandering and brought to a vet clinic. (microchip still in our name)
Owner was contacted and advised that Addison was found and safe at a vet clinic.
Fast forward a few hours and our director was on her way to pick him up from the vet as new owner had surrendered him back to us.
Addison is a timid boy when meeting new people - bio and meet and greet confirmed that.
Addison is a boy who loves to be around his humans - bio and meet and greet confirmed that.
Addison is a boy who loves to sleep in the house (NOT a kennel outside) and be with his humans - bio and meet and greet confirmed that.
Yet Addison was left outside for numerous hours and expected to sleep in a kennel outside - this is not the dog that will be able to do this - Addison thrives on human contact and love.
As we have advised he is anxious and timid meeting new people but his new home needs to give him a chance to settle and feel secure and wanted!
We are now back looking for an amazing home for Addison - a quiet home where he can settle and feel loved and be included WITH the family - is this you?
Well hello ladies my name is Addison and I am a male Daschund x staffy and I am 5 years and 3 weeks old.
Let me tell you about myself…..
I know that discussing weight can be a touchy subject for some people but I am pretty happy with 15kgs in weight – I am not as big as a fully staffy but I am definitely long like a dashie!!!
When I meet new people I am a little nervous but if you give me a few moments to warm up to you I will follow you and be your shadow.
I love being around people and just want to be wherever you are, if you will let me I will even follow you to the bathroom – for this reason I am asking if I can go to a home where there is someone who either doesn’t need to work, doesn’t work, works from home or is retired.
I am currently in care with a few other small breed dogs and I get along very well with them – I love being surrounded by the girl dogs hee hee.
I am also cat friendly
I like being around kids as well – especially when I get comfy and they want to play with me. I’m also a great companion for them when they are doing their homework, hanging out in the rooms – I’m a great companion while tv is on or just kicking back and reading a book.
My foster mum has mentioned that I am very food motivated and she’s says that I have lovely manners
I love going for walks – and yes you will give a little grin from time to time as you walk with me and you watch me strut my stuff – I can walk with the best of them!
I am also a fan of the car so would happily ride shotgun with you anytime.
I am toilet trained
I would love to be part of a family that allows me to be inside majority of the time and to sleep on couches and beds, a family who makes me a real part of their life and in return I will give you all my heart and be your best friend forever.
If you think you could make me part of your family & are interested in applying to adopt me, please send thru an adoption application.

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $100) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
