Little Coda is a Corgi x ? who currently weighs in at 15 kilos of cute fluffy love

Coda is a happy little guy who does not do well with other dogs or other animals so an only dog home is what he seks

Coda will make a wonderful little companion and a best friend

We do know from his previous home that small kids are not his thing so we are not seeking a home with children under 12

Travelling in the car

Absolutely fine. He usually sits on the floor or lies across the backseat.

Food

Coda can be fussy with new food but usually eats anything. Mostly on a combo of dry biscuits and meat rolls. He enjoys a cheeky treat or two throughout the day.

Outside

Coda is happy to spend his days outside when his hoomans are at work . He will just chill in a kennel or on a warm day enjoy a sunbake Coda isn’t the most curious dog so doesn’t require a large backyard but does require a yard of some sort.

Visitors – People

Coda doesn’t discriminate against anyone. Pretty affectionate and 99% of the time just wants a belly or head scratch. He’ll snuzzle his head into your hands if you stop, it’s the cutest. We know from his previous home he isn't a fan of small children so we seek children over the age of 12 if there are any in residence

Enrichment

Coda loves toys that involve some human interaction as well – so lots of ropes and balls. When hyped up, he’ll get a sudden burst of energy and runs around – it’s quite entertaining. He makes us laugh.

Independence

Coda is independent throughout his day and loves a nap. If left alone, he’ll be perfectly fine, although he does howl at any sirens he hears, but only momentarily. He has not destroyed anything in the garden or furniture. He's such a good boy

Walking – Lead experience

Coda loves moderate-long walks (and even short runs) as many times a day as you’re willing. He currently enjoys a 30 minute walk per day He barely pulls. He has minor on-lead aggression, so best to keep him close when passing other dogs. Car sounds does not seem to bother him.

For Coda to be walked near other dogs he will require some training as he will growl when meeting
Obedience

Coda is already very obedient, our clever boy has learnt to sit drop and wait . He does require some training with taking treats as he can be a bit over zelaous and nearly take your fingers .

Inside

Coda’s preference is to be indoors, especially at night away from the cold. He is frightened of storms.

Dog socialisation, cat, small animals

Coda shows slight aggression towards other dogs. We’ve allowed him to meet and play with our family dog multiple times, and this aggression has dropped completely; so with enough time and patience we’re sure he’d happily live alongside a companion. We haven’t observed him with cats yet however he did get excited with our rabbit. Based on this we are seeking a pet free home

Sleeping habits

Coda has been sleeping indoors in the room beside us, with no real signs of complaints or issues sleeping (he’s an incredibly cute snorer at times)

Toilet training

Coda picked up a habit with us where he only goes to the toilet during walks. It’s a tendency where he’ll avoid relieving himself until then. He’s had a few accidents inside because we were unaware of this, and as a result we try to take him on two walks a day to ensure he’s got everything out of his system. He should be pretty easily adapted and trained into a new habit when in his new forever environment.

Medical

Coda has just gotten over a skin irritation to his feet in which we treated with vets supervision . We are not sure if this is an ongoing thing or just a season sensitivity but keeping between his toes dry will assist.

Codas ideal home:
- a family that will give him lots of belly scratches and cuddles
- doesn’t need a large backyard but a family that enjoys going on walks
- a family that will include him in everyday life and adventures
- a family who is willing to keep working on his dog socialisation
- must be allowed indoors and preferably on the couch for lots of cuddles and attention
- no children under 12 years
