About Neil
Meet Neil
Neil is a 16-month-old Koolie x who is deaf. Despite his disability, he is easy to communicate with as he relies on watching his humans for instructions. He is an independent dog who doesn't need constant attention and is content to relax in the backyard until you come home, at which point he will give you a warm welcome. Once he becomes accustomed to the routine, he becomes more settled, confident, and happy. However, his new family needs to understand that it may take several weeks for Neil to adjust to his new home.
Neil is an active boy who would excel in dog sports such as agility. He loves going for walks or playing fetch in the field, but unlike many other active dogs, he can easily switch off and relax in the sun or his crate. He recently trialed Noseworks and loved it, so any activities that stimulate his mind would be great for him.
Neil is house-trained and crate-trained and will happily put himself to bed in his crate at night. Although he enjoys snuggling on the couch once he knows you, he waits patiently to be invited up. He requires a confident owner who is consistent in their commands and boundaries and is willing to lead and direct him. Neil likes to look to his owner for reassurance and guidance in different situations.
Neil is looking for a home with a female dog for company, but he is not comfortable around other male dogs, cats, or pocket pets. He is a quiet and affectionate dog who loves belly rubs and attention from the public. He has a high level of obedience and has been attending some of Hear No Evil's recent events, where he has won the hearts of the volunteers.
To adopt Neil, you must have a secure and spacious home with a fenced yard where he can play and exercise safely. You should have experience with deaf dogs or be willing to learn how to communicate effectively with one. Neil needs regular exercise, mental stimulation, and socialization. You must be committed to engaging him in dog sports and ensure he gets plenty of walks and playtime. Neil needs a patient owner who is willing to give him time to settle into his new home. Finally, you must be willing to provide Neil with a lifetime of love, care, and attention, including regular vet checkups, vaccinations, and a balanced diet. If you meet all the adoption criteria and would like to give Neil a loving forever home, please contact Hear No Evil and fill out an adoption application.

1st Step * Please complete the adoption application found at https://www.jotform.com/203212544415848.Once the application is completed and returned it will be assessed for suitability.
2nd Step * A Meet and Greet with the dog and all members of the adopting family and and current dogs is arranged where possible.

3rd Step *Payment of the Adoption fee in full. The dog is then handed over with any belongings, and all relevant paperwork and records.
Transport arrangements are the financial responsibility of the Adopting party. Hear No Evil are happy to assist with departure preparations and ensuring the dog makes its transport connection.
Final step * Once the 14 day 'settling in' period has ended, the change of ownership microchip details are submitted, and the adoption is officially finalised.
