tasha is a real beauty and sharp as a tack - both traits of the alaskan malamute. She longs to be a member of a pack and is very affectionate. She would suit someone who is home a fair bit or
who is willing to let her tag along on their adventures. As she's housetrained, she would love nothing more than to hang out inside with you - she also loves to lay under the dining room table in her self-proclaimed 'wolf-cave'. Although she can be a little nervous at times, tasha responds when reassured, encouraged and praised. Like most malamutes, she can be keen to welcome you home or tell you how her day has been - she loves a chat and can be talkative. Tasha came to best friends because she was too smart for her own good - she is an accomplished
escape artist. A property inspection is a prerequisite for anyone interested in adopting tasha. Colourbond fencing/concrete laid under the fencing would be preferred. She has previously lived with a male malamute and is good with other dogs. However, malamutes
can tend to have same-sex aggression so tasha will need to go to a home without other female dogs, just in case. And no cats, she is not a fan at all. Due to her size and breed, tasha is quite strong on-lead, though we have found that using a halti or gentle leader makes all the difference and she walks brilliantly on these. Her new owner will need to be committed to walking her at least daily. Malamutes are not the breed for everyone and are so much more than just a stunning-looking dog.
