***Rural/acreage home only****
Hi! I'm Badger, a pup in the SAFE program.
I've been vet checked, vaccinated and microchipped and now I'm ready for a permanent home.
Ideally I'm looking for a home on a large property. Because I'm a working breed I like activities and having jobs to do. I'm not a crazy busy pup because I'm already learning that being calm is the best way to be. I love children and have excellent manners. I'm not a jumpy puppy and I have been taught and now understand the best way to get attention is to sit politely.
I still enjoy a good sniff and getting up to adventures. My breed is prone to be talkative and therefore living in suburbia isn't likely to win me friends, so I would prefer lots of space to be active. I'm smart and ready to continue my learning. Mostly I would love my own family and my own place. I love other dogs too and am happy to have a playmate. I'm ready to learn anything you want to teach me!
You might notice I have a bit of an underbite... it's ok, I don't think it ruins my good looks, but I will need to see the vet from time to time, just to see how my teeth are growing. But SAFE has got my back and has that covered so I'm ready to go ;)
Want to know more about how you teach a pup to be a great dog? Attending puppy preschool and dog training is a great place to start. I'd like to do training every day so I learn the commands of sit, wait, come, down and leave it. And once I've learnt them, I need to keep practicing them every day. Being consistent and clear with your boundaries will mean I always know the right way to behave. Getting out to exercise at least twice a day for working dog breeds is vital to stimulate my brain and body. It creates important opportunities for me to meet strangers, other dogs and other animals, plus it tires me out! If I'm chewing something I shouldn't, give me a chew toy instead. I'd love to have a range of chew toys that you can swap around so I don't get bored with them.
