Cuddles, or ‘Cuddie’ as we call her for short, is a beautiful bundle of love. With her purple Shar-pei tongue, she will want nothing more than kisses, a nice meal, and an occasional bone to keep her beautiful teeth strong. Cuddles has a darling nature and is affectionate and eager to please. Cuddles loves daily walks, is first in the car for a ride and is happy to sit still the whole time looking out the window with the wind blowing in her face.
Cuddles loves a bed to call her own – inside and outside – she loves sunbaking, but equally loves being cuddled up in her blanket at night. Visitors to the home needn’t be afraid as Cuddles just wants to say hi, have a pat, and tell you what a good girl she is. If she’s been at home a few hours and you arrive, she’d love you to go out the back and throw some of her toys around to get some zoomies out. That said, they don’t last long, and she’s back to lying in her bed, or coming over for some affection.
She has basic obedience - knows to sit, when to go to her bed, and responds to firm commands, but is generally very low maintenance.
Kids aren’t a problem for Cuddles. She has been in foster care with an 8-year-old boy. She absolutely loves kids and her adults, and will follow you around the house, wanting to know everything you’re doing and see if she can sit down and watch you do computer work, wash up, do the folding, or just enjoy your television show with you.
Other animals may take some getting used to. On walks she barks, but wags her tail, so it is expected that with the right introduction, she would make fur friends.
Cuddles would do best in a family where she can be the only dog and get all of the attention. She would suit someone who is home a lot of the time. Cuddles would probably best suit a single person as she does gravitate to a particular person. That said, she would be equally excited to be in a family with kids and would love nothing more than sitting in her bed outside watching them play and joining in occasionally.
