About Walter
Walter has a lot of love to give. He is goofy, friendly and affectionate. Walter is very excitable and loves meeting new people. While he is great with people, he can be quite vocal and jumpy but that’s just his way of saying hello! Walter loves to speak and can be quite needy. He will certainly let you know how much he missed you when you return home and will demand lots of pats, hugs and kisses. Once the initial excitement wears off, Walter is very calm and snugly. He loves to be around people. He has not been around many children or cats. Walter loves playing with other dogs and is mostly quite submissive, often lying down, allowing himself to be approached! Although sometimes, Walter will display his working dog instincts and try to herd other dogs, nipping and barking at their heels.
Walter would love a desexed adult (not senior) active, playful canine companion in his new home.
Walter has high energy levels. He would be best suited to a home with a big backyard and would not enjoy being left alone most of the time. Walter has learnt to sit and stay. He sits before crossing the road, coming inside, being invited onto the the furniture, eating and being let off the lead. Walter usually has great recall however when he has his mind set on herding another dog, he tends to ignore everything else. Walter is toilet trained, walks well on the lead and travels great in the car. He is eager to please and takes to training quite well, ongoing training is highly recommended for this intelligent boy. If left alone for too long or not exercised enough, he can become destructive, chewing through anything left lying around. Walter just wants to love and be loved. Whoever adopts him will have found themselves a beautiful companion.
Medical notes
Medical notes-
When Walter had a full vet check at the time of desexing the vet discovered Positive Ortolani Bilaterally under anesthetic. This could indicate the presence of Hip Displaysia. He will need to be monitored closely for lameness or gait changes and he may need radiography in the future for further diagnosis.
All future costs including but not limited to radiography, vet care/treatment, surgeries and medications related to the above mentioned will be at the new owners expense.
Adoption details
If you think one of our animals would be a good match for your home please email us and we will be in touch shortly after. We all work fulltime, have families and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require any other dogs in your home meeting our foster animal before they head home with you. This enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care, this is a condition of our Adoptions.
