Grandma Rose

Grandma Rose is the kind of cat who immediately puts you at ease as she runs up to you, rumbling with an affectionate purr and throws herself at your ankles, rubbing her big tabby body all over you with love.

A staff favourite here at SCAR, Grandma Rose's beautiful reputation has travelled so far, that one of our amazing supporters with a soft spot of FIV positive felines, has covered the cost of her adoption!

Yes - Grandma Rose is FIV Positive - but all this really means is that, like any senior, Grandma Rose will need to have regular check-ups and look after her health. Most importantly, this little lady will need to live an indoor only lifestyle.

Luckily for Grandma Rose, she has a lifetime of wonderful hobbies to keep her occupied and you entertained! She's an avid indoor plant enthusiast, who loves to gently sniff her foster carer's house plants. Grandma Rose is currently obsessed with her apple tree scratching post and always has time to stop and smell the flowers!

Want to know Grandma Rose's secret biscuit recipe? Just head into the kitchen with her - Grandma Rose may only be able to eat wet food (she's recently had some dental work, but her lack of teeth has not affected her appetite!) but she's always got time to pop up on the counter and teach you everything she knows about baking - which is a lot - while you tell her all about your day.

When you retire into the loungeroom, Grandma Rose will curl up in your lap and happily read your book with you, or help with the daily crossword - she swears 12 across is TREAT... or that could just be a fantastic suggestion for something else...

This little lady just loves to be by your side and will sometimes even ask to come under the covers and tuck herself into bed with you, placing her head right by yours on the pillow! However, Grandma Rose is also very independent and will happily spend the hours you're away, rolled into a tiny croissant, dreaming happily of all the adventures you'll have together once you get home.

Grandma Rose will be happiest in a home without young children and where she is the only cat and she has recently let us know that Dogs aren't her thing either.
