About Tank
Hey there, how’s it going? My name is Tank and I am ready for my forever home
Now you have probably looked at my photos and just been blown away at how cute I am – I mean come on how could you not – I am a Maltese x Dachshund and I am 9 years and 6 months young!
Now I know ladies don’t like discussing their weight – but cause I’m a boy and it’s me discussing I can tell you I’m happy and comfortable with my 8kgs so i think I’m a good size lap dog!
My foster mum says I’m like a silent ninja when I follow her around the house while she does her thing. I love to sit next to you for pats but I would be even happier if allowed on your lap!
I am really good at doing that hero worshipping puppy dog stare and it normally leads to pats and lap time
I can often be found napping off somewhere quiet and by myself – nothing better than a good nap.
I have all my basic training down pat (ha ha ha pun intended) and doing really well at not jumping up on your leg when you get home – I do forget from time to time my manners but that is just cause I’m excited your home.
I love going for a walk – not a run or a marathon just a nice walk and I walk well on my lead.
I love being able to have access to inside and outside and love being able to go out into the garden thru the day and have a good run around
I am good with other dogs but if they are too annoying I have been known to give them a little warning and then a nip – I’m looking for a home where there is another dog similar in temperament to me and someone’s lap please.
While I am a very quiet boy most of the time, I have been known to let my humans know when a pack of zombies come past the house and look in my direction – okay well maybe not zombies but I will alert you to things I think you need to know about – even if you don’t. I have been working on that but there’s a chance I will have days where I will slip and fall back into that habit.
If there is other dogs around or at the home and one of them starts to bark I am one of those mates who are all in and will have your back – so I will bark as well – oops.
I am a typical lap dog so that means I’m looking for a lap that is home more often than not, someone who can take the time to sit down and let me have a snooze on them or near them.
I wouldn’t enjoy being home alone for 8+ hours a day without humans. My foster mum says
I am not a fan of spending time by myself unless I choose too.
I am not tested with cats but should be fine.
I am house trained.

Paw Prints Canine Rescue is a non for profit dog rescue located in Southeast Queensland.
All our dogs leave our care with full vet work (up-to-date vaccinated, microchipped, desexed, heart worm and intestinal wormed and flea treated).
Please note - They will not leave for their new homes until they are 12 weeks of age and have been desexed, micro-chipped and vaccinated up to date.
Please note - we are not a pound or have kennels - all our dogs stay in foster carers homes and therefore dogs are not able to be simply viewed - only approved applicants will meet the dogs.
Please Note: We do not hold any animals so please only apply if you are ready to adopt now
Please note - We don't take calls on adoption enquiries - an application must be completed
We can also be found at https://www.facebook.com/pawprintscanine/

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $100) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
