This boy is an absolute love bug! ❤️
He loves a good snuggle with you, & often puts his paw or head on your lap or shoulder. Leo doesn't shed a great deal of hair, is toilet trained, hasn't destroyed anything in care, and knows basic commands sit and wait (for food) ...you can't get much better than this beautiful boy! He sleeps in his crate overnight and happily goes in there for naps during the day with the door open, this helps him feeling secure in his safe place.
Leo loves going for walks and has not reacted with any dog so far that hes passed on the dog tracks...not a growl, and certainly not a bark! He is great on the lead, listens to you throughout the walk and overall, a lovely walking companion. He has met children on walks and showed great politeness to some staggering toddlers. He is building great confidence with being in the car, as he was initially a little anxious.
Leo is very chilled at home. He never jumps up on people and is happy to laze around and snooze while he waits for you to come home from work. He is happy to go outside when you’re at work, but ideally, he would love to be inside and as close to you as possible when he can.
Whilst he is great with other dogs on lead, a more mature and not so energetic friend at home would be ideal (coz he's just so relaxed, ideally not an alpha dog as he could be easily bullied). Of course, as with any dog, a proper and slow introduction would ensure a smooth transition to his new home.
Leo is both the perfect companion for anyone who can give him a calm loving home, or anyone wanting a gentle love bug to brighten your day.
Medical notes
When Leo first came into care, we were told he was 6yrs old, however on assessment at the vet they estimated age to be more like 8-10yrs. In his assessment we found he has a Grade 1 heart murmur, mild hip dysplasia, at some point in his life he has damaged the cruciate ligament in both knees and arthritis.
He has been started on 4Cyte, which is a supplement for joint injury and pain, and he has been improving well on this! Currently he doesnt require any medication, but later down the track he may require medication if pain increases. At his foster home he sometimes struggles on the laminated wooden floors, so his foster mum has rubber matting to help with his grip in the places he needs it.
No issues with daily living, just a happily beautiful man looking for a cuddle buddy.
