About Mika
Mika is acing her time at Camp Foster Care, and is nearly ready to start considering matches for her forever home, she just has some routine vet work to get out of the way first. This smarty pants has been awarded the badges "super snuggler", "brave when alone", and "zero accidents"!
Already mastering the art of being home by herself, Mika is a confident girl who will happily nap while you run errands or head to work. Don't let that fool you into thinking she might be an aloof, self possessed kind of hound - when you are around Mika will lay the loving on thick, and is big on cuddles.
Despite her age Mika *loves* to get out for walks; rain, hail, or shine, it's always adventure time for this little lady. If you so much as look at the door, she's ready to go, even if you just got home! Maybe it might be time to pop down to the local cafe and greet all the people waiting for their coffee? Or even a trip to the park to lay out in the sunshine? Yes please, says Mika, life is an adventure and being outdoors is the most fun!
While she is calm and displays good behaviour on leash around other dogs, Mika can be insecure with canine visitors to her home, and does not like to share her bed or toys. She prefers to be a spoiled only child, and likes her socialisation with other dogs to be out on walks as opposed to the bother of hosting guests who impose on her! New humans though are always welcome to drop by, she adores the attention.

• The time and financial commitments of adopting a forever hound
• What your work/social commitments will look like as restrictions continue to ease
Please no applications from:
(1) Homes with cats or pocket pets (example: rabbits, rats, guinea pigs)
(2) Homes with a resident dog, or very regular dog visitors
(3) Homes without the ability to take Mika on at least two 30+minute walks a day
Adoption details
1) Please email adopt@amazinggreys.com.au
2) Our adoptions team will send you an application form so we can learn more about you, your household and lifestyle
3) Once you submit an application, a volunteer from Amazing Greys then conducts an in person home check so that you can learn more about us and our community (all of our volunteers are fully vaccinated and must abide by our COVID Safety Plan)
4) Based on the home check, our adoptions team will suggest a suitable match for you*, and a meet and greet will be arranged with the foster home
5) After the meet and greet, should you decide to proceed the greyhound will be placed on a 3 week trial with you
5) At the completion of the trial period, our $385 fee will be due and the greyhound becomes an official member of your family!
Our team will keep in touch with you throughout the process and help you to settle in your new greyhound; but you will also have lifetime support, at any point post adoption our team can assist with referrals to qualified behaviourists and also providing resources and in home consultations where required.
*Where a suitable match is not available, you may be placed onto a wait list. Please note, we do not cat test and may refer applications with small animals to organisations that are able to assist with a placement
