About Midas
Midas - like the myth, everything this boy seems to touch is golden. Dogs? Loves them. Cats? No problems. Basic training? Nailing it. Picked up as a stray in rural NSW, golden boy Midas has slotted right in to his foster family’s existing pack.
Midas is sweet, smart and very trainable. He requires daily exercise (minimum 1 hour/day) and mental stimulation so those husky instincts don’t get out of hand with boredom. He loves his puzzles, kongs and fluffy toys. He also loves his raw food diet (while not essential to adoption, he does enjoy the mental stimulation it provides).
Midas has the basics down, and is currently working on his recall which is near perfect. He can sit, stay, lie down, roll, paw and is learning more tricks to give him extra stimulation. He crate and toilet trained. He does require a home with another dog and someone that can take him out to dog friendly places to improve his confidence in the suburban world. Being such a fast learner, it wont take long for him to bond with his people and gain confidence in their leadership. He is doing very well with his leash work on a slip lead and this will need to be continued with his adopters. We would not recommend he be let off leash until his recall is 100%.
Midas is cat social. He loves coming up and saying hello to the cats in the house, even partaking in zoomies with the resident young male cat. His foster mums often find him curled up on the couch, enjoying the comforts of indoors.
Midas is not suited to visiting dog parks at this current point in time as they are overstimulating for him. We would not recommend children under 12. No rural fencing, fowl or livestock as he finds them a little too interesting.
If you can provide Midas with a loving, active home, please apply!
