About Arthur
Hi, my name is Arthur and I’m looking for my new forever home. I’m turning 6 soon and I’d love to celebrate with a new forever family who will love and cherish me, but also a family who will not let me push them around as I can be bossy.
I’m looking for a home with no small children, but teenagers and above would be ok. I’m a bit nervous meeting new people to begin with but I warm up quickly if you are confident and don’t invade my personal space. I need you to be able to let me know when I overstep my boundaries (because I will try) and if you tell me clearly and confidently, I’ll listen, but if you let me get away with a little bit I’ll try to get away with a lot.
I would be confident to live with a calm dog or an older dog but not a young, boisterous boofhead. I’ve been to doggy day-care and did well with the calm dogs, and I currently foster with three dogs that I’m good with, though I’m separated at mealtimes. I also currently foster with a cat, and I would be fine to live with a confident cat.
At night I sleep calmly and quietly all night in my crate, and often during the day I can be found resting in my crate with the door open. It’s my safe space and I hope you’ll continue with it for me. I can be a little bit of a stress head when foster mum goes out so if you use my crate when you leave me at home I can relax in there and feel safe.
I’m a Tibetan Spaniel so I’m small and cuddly, with a lovely fluffy coat. I’ll need brushing and coat maintenance, but my coat is pretty easy to care for. I should not need clipping. I’m not a fussy eater and am generally healthy, though I do have an overbite, but it doesn’t affect me. My toilet training is very good once I know where to go. I don’t go in much for toys and games (but I might once I settle in if there was no competition for the toy/game) but I do love a walk. I walk well on lead, but I don’t need lots of exercise so if there are days where you cannot take me out, I won’t mind.
So please don’t apply if you have young kids or a boisterous existing dog, but otherwise I wouldn’t mind living in a house, townhouse, or unit. I would love it if you are home a lot, but if you are not then a mature doggy companion would be nice (but not essential).
Medical notes
Arthur has an overbite but it doesn't affect him. He is otherwise healthy.
