About Francesca 🦋
This beautiful little lady is Francesca, our 5yr old Blue/Tan Frenchie who loves to be beside you, and/or on top of you – as close as she can get and always waiting for a cuddle! Francesca is in care with two other French Bulldogs, one 3 years old and one 7 months. She can sometimes be a little competitive with the older one, to make sure she always has the best position on the lounge next to her favourite person, but it’s nothing more than a little warning to make sure she gets her way. She is always happy to share her food and her toys, and has not shown any aggression toward the other dogs beyond feeling a little jealously.
Francesca loves going on short walks, and playing at the park with her foster siblings. At the dog park, her favourite game is chasing, shoulder barging, and playing tug-a-war with other dogs. In fact, she sometimes likes to combine these two activities by chasing another dog, shoulder barging them, and then playing tug-a-war with their leash if they try to run away from her!
When on walks, she seems very interested in cars. She likes to stop and sniff the wheels on parked cars and sometimes pulls on the lead to get to the cars on the road. Her attention can be easily re-directed if you give her a little pat. When you pass another human on the street, she will try and pull toward them to say hello. When you pass another dog on the street, Francesca may be a little nervous and stop walking until they pass.
Francesca has had minimal exposure to children, however has been out and about at the local park, on walks and cafés, and has not shown any aggression towards any human. All Francesca really wants in this world is anyone and everyone’s utmost undivided attention, pats, and cuddles.
Francesca is currently going through the process of toilet training, and this will need to be continued in her new home. However, she does have an understanding that when we go outside this is toilet time – she just sometimes forgets the part where inside time is not toilet time.
Francesca is also crate trained, and is happy to sleep in her crate at night. As with most Frenchies, if left alone for too long she likes to find items to chew on, and are often hard items (such as the TV remote), so these will need to be kept out of reach when you go out.
Francesca is not shy to let you know how she is feeling. If she knows you are in the house, but she cannot get to you, she will let out a funny little noise that sounds like a monster growling. But she is mostly very quiet, and does not bark (if you can call the noise she makes a bark!) unless she wants to get to you but can’t figure out how.
Snorting, snuffling and flatulence go with the territory of short-faced breeds. We recommend doing research on the breed before choosing to own one, as they do come with a range of health issues and require certain needs.
Francesca has recently undergone soft palate corrective surgery and this has helped to relieve her from some breathing problems. However – she is not the kind of dog that would be able to run around for long periods of time. She has had a spinal X-ray which shows three hemi-vertebraes, so making sure she doesn’t jump up or twist too much during play is important.
Francesca also loves staring wistfully out the window for hours on end, with her gorgeous big brown eyes. Her right eye is not able to produce tears on its own, so two times a day she requires eye drops to ensure her eye remains clean, and free of any goop.
Francesca enjoys eating her meals, and is working on putting on some extra weight through eating two-three meals per day. It is suggested you start her on kibble, and re-introduce new foods into her diet, as she struggles with her digestion (sometimes vomiting) if new foods are not introduced slowly.
There are many other factors that may contribute to health issues down the track, so please do your homework and be sure that you can provide her with the home and lifestyle she requires to stay healthy.
We are looking for a family or person who is willing to put in the time and effort with training for Francesca, and someone who understands the needs and health issues of the French Bulldog. Frenchies love the company of their humans, so someone who works from home would be perfect for this gorgeous girl.
Francesca is currently being fostered in Wyoming and ready for adoption now 🥰

Adoption details
If you would like to express interest in adopting, we ask that you send through some info about yourself, your family and home, if you rent or own (rental agreement required if renting and rates notice required if you own) and what you can offer this gorgeous baby. Our aim is to find the best homes for our babies, not necessarily first in best dressed, so a good detailed application will make you stand out from the rest.
Once we have received your email outlining the above, those who we feel may be suitable, will be sent an Adoption Questionnaire to complete. Your enquiry will then be passed onto the appropriate carer and successful applicants will be contacted via phone.
