About Archie
Archie is a people-loving, funny, friendly, affectionate and intelligent young man, who loves being told what a good boy he is, which is his favourite thing. He will listen to how good and handsome he is for hours!
He’s such a happy and loving companion. Archie enjoys being close to his people, either under the table or by the couch (he would even love to join you on the end of the couch for an evening snuggle!). Much of his time is spent chilling out in his bed or following you around the home as he wants to be around his humans - he's definitely not a dog who likes to be excluded or put in the backyard as it makes him very sad.
Archie is a very strong boy and does pull on-lead at the beginning of the walk, but with some high-value treats, a clicker, and praise, he quickly falls into good habits his original owners instilled in him. He absolutely loves his daily morning explorer walks and can be a little antsy until he gets one, but once he’s had his walk he’s a couch potato for the rest of the day!
Archie has great house manners, loves paddling in his pool and will take the opportunity to get wet whenever it presents (other than bath time, he likes to make himself scarce for that!).
Archie is especially well-mannered around food. He enjoys a mix of dry food with some brown rice, broccoli and some meat, such as chicken necks or livers (with no seasoning!).
He can be a little excitable seeing other dogs (he looooves to play and make friends) whilst out and about. However, with positive reinforcement, we are confident that Archie will decide you are more fun and pass canine friends calmly. He is not above throwing the odd husky tantrum, he just loves playing with other dogs.
Despite wanting to make friends with other dogs during his walks, in the home he would prefer to be the only dog – He wants all the praise and good bois directed at him and he’s too much of a distinguished gentleman to be sharing! And he has no fear for visitors, house guests mean more pats!
He is a show-line husky and so his “Husky traits” are watered down and are amusing rather than problematic. He isn’t destructive and doesn’t have the usual strong escape tendencies (he's not to be trusted off lead or near open doors still though).
Archie’s humans had to leave for overseas and he is now in need of new human sidekicks. He is such a handsome, loving gentleman and a funny and brilliant companion. His new family will be lucky to have him enrich their lives.
