River is a sweet pup who is looking for someone committed to making sure she can be a confident adult when she grows up. This beautiful girl is learning to ignore dogs on walks and would be an amazing little training buddy.

Hi, I'm River, and I'm currently searching for my loving home! If you're struggling to resist my big, brown eyes, here's a little about me to help you fall head over heels for my sweet, Staffy pup charm!

When I Grow Up, I Will Be:
Fearless! I've not had the best start to life for a pup so young, but in less than a month here at SCAR and my foster home, I have gained so much confidence already! I know I'll be unstoppable with your help, love, and guidance!

My Special Talents Are:
I'm a superfast learner! I've recently mastered toilet training, sitting for my harness before walks and how to eat all my food without running around excitedly in between! I'm getting really awesome at walking on my lead and staying close to my person, but I do tend to get a bit excited when I see other people or dogs I'd really like to meet. However, with your help and the one-on-one training session included with my adoption, I'm sure I will conquer this skill in no time too!

It's Friday Night, And My Plans Are:
Snuggling up on the couch next to you while we binge-watch Netflix, before rolling onto my back for a snore and belly rub!

Squeaky Or Bouncy? My Favourite Toy Is:
BOTH! I love to play! I will chase it for hours if it moves or makes a loud noise! ... In this case, I'd probably do best in a home without small children!

What I Value Most in A Friendship:
I'd love some human friends in my life and an energetic, playful male dog who can tolerate my Staffy pup energy! But mostly, I'm looking for someone loving and kind, who will laugh with me when I'm silly and help me turn into the resilient dog, I know I can be!

Follow the prompts & in the message section please tell us all about you & your home, anything you feel that makes you a great match for this particular pet, & any specific requirements for pets coming into your home. This helps us find a great match for the pets in our care.
We are a small team & are trying our best to be fair to all applicants while creating the best outcomes for our animals. We do not take applications over the phone. We will aim to reply to all applications within 5 business days & will confirm with all applicants once we have an adoption meet booked for the animal. The majority of our animals are in foster homes, not at the shelter, so you need to apply to meet them.
