About Charlotte ~ 1yr Old Mastiff X(On trial 1/10/22)
Hi, my name is Charlotte and if you are looking for someone to love you then I'm your girl. I'm an extremely affectionate 15mth old Mastiff X. I love nothing more than to spend time with my humans. I love a lap to lay my head on or a body to sit and lay beside. If you aren't touching me, I like to lay a paw on you, so I know you are there beside me. I shower my foster family with kisses and cuddles all the time. You know you want my cuddles!
I'm looking for a special home too, just like you are looking for that special dog just for you. Since coming into care, my foster carer has discovered that I have allergies, and yes would you believe it I'm allergic to grass! Yes, a dog allergic to grass, crazy I know. But it sucks too. I get extremely itchy; I'm known to get rashes and dry skin. I have tried different medicine and they help a little, but I can still get a rash and become itchy when I come into contact with grass, particularly when I lay on it and rub my belly on it. So, I'm looking for a home with no grass. I would still love to go out for walks and runs to the dog park, the beach and I love to go on trips in the car.
I like to do what I'm told and keep you happy. I come, sit, lay, stay and I will even wait for my dinner. I also sit before crossing the road. Sometimes, I need a reminder. I do love a treat for doing as you ask. MMMMMM food it is so good, some of my favourites include bananas and peanut butter. Funny story, when my carer had me on a special diet (just to check I wasn't allergic to any foods), I got really hungry one night and could smell the bananas in the fruit bowl on the table... and so yes you guessed it, I jumped up onto the table and ate the whole bunch of bananas! They were sooo good.
Playing fetch is a fun game but I'm still learning the part where I'm supposed to bring the ball back and give it to you. Tug-o-war is another of my favourite games. When I go to the dog park, I love interacting with the other dogs particularly when we play chase. I generally don't pull on the lead when out walking unless something smells really good, or I want to say hi to another furry friend.
Being home on my own during the day doesn't worry me, but I will bark if a stranger comes to the gate, and I don't know them. So, I don't mind if you have to go out to work or school all day as long as when you come home you will spend time with me and let me hang out with you.
I love little people too, but I am known to jump when I am excited. I would love a family who will welcome me into their home. I much prefer to be inside with my humans than outside, and I am happy to sleep in a crate. I have been known to sneak into my foster sister's beds from time to time so they can feel safe. Actually, I think they were the ones doing the sneaking. You do have to remember though I am still a puppy and I have been known to sneak items I like to chew on, but if you put things out of reach, I will leave them alone.
In my current foster home, I am the only dog. I do love being the only one and center of attention. However, I would easily get along with other fur play mates in your home, just maybe not cats and pocket pets.
