Meat Lovers is an active puppy who does not like to sit still. He loves exploring the backyard and running around doing zoomies and splashing in water when he gets a chance. Meat lover is an intelligent boy who picks up commands and routines very easily. He is not mouthy and does not jump up.
Food
Meat Lovers is currently eating three meals a day of premium dry food. Meat lovers will sit when asked and wait for his dinner. He shows no sign of food aggression and will gently take food from your hand. For training I have been using boiled chicken cut into small pieces,
Traveling in the Car
Meat Lovers has been going for multiple care trips every week and is getting used to them. He sits on the back seat and is clipped in, after a couple of minutes He lays down and relaxes. As Meat Lovers is a puppy I would encourage his new family to continue taking him out for car trips and always using the proper restraints.
Visitors
Meat Lovers can be a little bit quiet when he first meet someone but will warm up quickly. Meat Lovers is always up for a snuggle from humans.
Enrichment
Meat Lovers loves toys and noisy toys are his favourite and he will squeak them for hours, he loves chasing balls, and digging in the sandpit.
Walks-Lead Experience
Meat Lovers has been practising walking on a lead in the front yard and is not fussed by the lead at all. He loves exploring the front and watching other dogs and people walk past. Meat Lovers will need to have further lead training and it will be important that his family continue walking him everyday.
Obedience
Meat Lovers is a smart boy and will sit and drop when asked. Meat Lovers will need to attend puppy school to further his training and for socialisation.
Inside
Meat Lovers is great inside and has not been chewing on things that he shouldn't. Meat Lovers knows how to use a doggy door and will use it to go in and out when he pleases. Meat Lovers is a typical puppy who will explore and run around even when inside, he will get under your feet while you walk as he wants to know what you are doing.
Dog socialisation, cats and other small animals
Meat Lovers is currently living in a house with 3 siblings and 4 other dogs . These dogs are all different breeds, ages, and heights. Meat Lovers has no issues playing with all the dogs.
As Meat Lovers is a puppy he will be fine in a home with a cat, however your cat must be puppy savvy.
Sleeping
Meat Lovers has been sleeping in his crate with the door open with his siblings . Meat Lovers is a great sleeper and sleeps through until morning. Meat Lovers tends to go to bed at 9pm and not wake up until 8am.
Toilet Training
Meat Lovers has not had any accidents inside lately but in a new home we would expect him to have a few accidents until he is comfortable with his surroundings . I would suggest taking him outside after he wakes up and also after eating.
Adoption Requirements for Meat Lovers
- Large area or acreage with grass for him to run and play on, secure fences and shelter is a must
- Ongoing puppy school to help further his training and for socialisation
- Daily walks are a must (shorts walks while he is still a puppy)
-If you have a dog they must be female. The current resident dog must be of a temperament that can adapt to puppy development, and she must be well socialised with other dogs (do not apply if your dog has not been socialised recently)
-New family must understand that puppies take time to settle and all things puppy, including crying, chewing and training is a must.)
- Meat Lovers must be able to sleep inside
Meat Lovers is of an active breed and will require ongoing stimulation as he matures
