About Zuko
Meet Zuko
A loveable Pug x Beagle goofball full of energy and pazzzazzzz! Zuko is 12 month old and is full of energy and playfulness.
Loves: Grass, Dog Parks filled with doggy friends, Park benches, Cuddles, Toys & FOOD.
Dislikes: Rain, and his human not being home
Areas for development: Toilet Training, Basic commands (knows some: ‘come’, ‘stay’, ‘cross the road’ ‘calm’) and his separation anxiety.
Zuko is full of love to give but has had a rough start to life. He loves everyone he meets and wants a pat from all of his human friends. Zuko thrives in a moderately active lifestyle – he enjoys 2 walks a day, play at the dog park, cuddling on a park bench watching the world go by, practicing his tackles with his doggy mates and playing with all the fun toys! Zuko goes bananas for food and loves a cheeky treat. He is great in the car, and chills patiently waiting to arrive at any destination. He walks great on a lead and LOVES grass (rolling in it/jumps like a bunny in tall grass).
Despite his looks resembling 90% Pug, Zuko’s personality is certainly 90% Beagle! He loves to run, chase, sniff-out treats, explore and is very curious! He enjoys weekend trips to the beach and bushwalks/hikes and is just a happy-go-lucky/social dog. He loves cuddles so must go to a home where he would be welcomed on the couch. Due to his activity levels he would not be suited to a home with elderly parents/people as he may become a trip-hazard.
Ideal Home:
• A patient family that is committed to training Zuko and investing their time to building healthy habits/routine into his everyday life. Zuko's house-training will need to continue with his new family, as he changes environments and gets used to a new routine.
• Ideally a home where someone works from home as he does suffer from a bit of separation anxiety and does stress when left alone for more than 4-5 hours at a time. Ideally his new owners are home more often than not to continue to work on his separation anxiety in a calm and positive manner (using force free training methods).
• Zuko will be best suited to a home that has a secure backyard / country style farm (secure fencing a must) where he will be able to exert his energy during the day in between walks/outings. Zuko will need to sleep inside (living area is fine).
• He must be rehomed with a well-behaved/friendly playful active dog (mid-large sized)who Zuko can learn from/play with and keep Zuko company when you are not at home.
• Zuko is great with kids and is quite gentle/playful/curious with those he meets. He has no issues with men and has not been tested around cats.
If you would like to meet Zuko please email (only) as much information about yourself, family and existing pet so that we can see if you are both a good match.
