About Nettie
Hi everyone! I'm Nettie. My foster parents describe me as a pocket rocket! I am full of energy and love running around all day. I think I could slot into your family perfectly. A home with kids would be awesome so I can chase them and play all day long! I haven't been tested with children yet but my foster mum thinks I'll be fine. I will need someone who has the patience to train me not to jump up too much - I get really excited and jump around lots but I'm not rough or hurtful. I'm also really cuddly and often curl up on my foster parent's chests or laps for a snuggle and a nap - I'm very cute!!
I'm responding really well to training! I now know to always go to the toilet outside. I also know 'sit'!! I sleep in my own comfy crate inside all night (waking up twice during the night to go to the toilet outside) and don't cry or whinge in my crate. I also have naps in my crate (or on the couch!) during the day.
I'm very small and light at the moment, but I love food so hoping to get big and strong quickly. My favourite human food is rotisserie chicken! But I love my puppy chicken biscuits and eat a big bowl twice a day!
I love my soft cow toy Mr Moo, and hard rubber toys with treats stuffed inside. They keep me busy for a while and let my brother have a break from me annoying him. I also LOVE chasing tennis balls around the backyard. If you already have a dog, I think that would be awesome as long as they aren't a puppy.
Want to know more about how you teach a pup to be a great dog? I'd like to do training every day so that I learn the commands of sit, stay, come, down, no, stop and leave it. And once I've learnt them, I need to keep practicing them every day too. That way I'll learn to obey what you tell me to do. Being consistent and clear with your boundaries will mean I always know the right way to behave. Getting out to exercise at least once a day (and twice for working dog breeds) is vital to stimulate my brain and body. It creates important opportunities for me to meet strangers, other dogs and other animals, plus it tires me out! Tell me ""no"" if I'm chewing something I shouldn't and give me a chew toy instead. I'd love to have a range of chew toys that you can swap around so I don't get bored with them.
I CAN FLY TO PERTH!
Flying for a few hours is very important for animals in remote locations because it gives us the opportunity to be adopted. Talk to SAFE about flying me to you in Perth.
