About Lizzie
MEET LIZZIE!
Lizzie is approximately 3 years young, she is a domestic medium haired grey female, desexed, microchipped and vaccinated. lizzie is ready for her purrfect forever home! She is a special needs gal as she has no teeth! This does not affect her life span or health, she just needs to eat softer foods.
❤Small kitty but BIG on love. Liz lived as a stray her whole life and probably had multiple litters of kittens before she was finally rescued. When we got Lizzie after trapping her, she had just given birth to 4 kittens, Sadly 2 of her kittens didn't survive; the other 2 did and were adopted together.
Upon rescue, Lizzie was found to have severe stomatitis of the mouth (most likely genetic.) Despite the best of treatment she had to have a full mouth extraction, sure it sounds awful, but Lizzy has thrived since! Now she is able to groom herself and eat without pain, she has even put on weight and is looking fabulous. She needs to be on a softish, premium quality diet for life.
This girl gives the best head butts and bottom butts! She is super affectionate and full of love, she isn't particularly shy of strangers and will happily accept love from anyone.
Lizzie is good with other cats, but certainly not with a dominant cat, so we'd like to find her a home either as an only cat or with a passive kitty friend, she has no experience with dogs or little kids. We would like to find Lizzie a quieter, relaxed home environment where she can really settle down and spend the rest of her life in peace and relax!
Lizzie is INDOOR ONLY for life, please only apply for her if this is suitable for your household.
Medical notes
Lizzie has no teeth as she unfortunately had to have a full mouth extraction, she has made a full recovery and is living her best life!
Adoption details
Thank you for your interest in a rescue cat! They can make the most wonderful friends and family members.
Our rescue cats have varied histories and stories and as such they each require a different home environment, we ask prospective adopters a series of questions aimed at making the perfect match so please dont be offended when asked questions. We do not adopt to a first in first serve basis and only adopt to the most suitable home possible. If you are outside Ballarat we ask that you make time to have a 30 minute video-chat with us and the kitty you are interested in so we can get to know you a little better and you can see the kitty in its home environment before coming up to Ballarat to adopt, if you are local then we hold a meet and greet at the foster home of the kitty. We only offer video chats and meet and greets to the most suitable homes.
All of our cats at Cat Lovers Ballarat are rehomed as strictly INDOOR ONLY cats and we ask that all prospective adopters only apply if they are capable and comfortable with this.
Please have patience with us as we go through all applications and make our decisions to move onto phase 2 and offer meet and greets, this can take days and sometimes a week to go through, you will be contacted whether you are successful or not.
Thank you again for your interest in one of our rescue cats!
